Historia
Is it reckless for a master’s student to blur the lines with her hot, older professor—a legendary storm chaser? Without a doubt. But when a tornado strikes during Finley and Professor West’s first chase together, something far more dangerous than the storm pulls them in. Boundaries shatter, and so do their reservations. Now, as they tear across Oklahoma with his famous storm chasing team, he’s adamant: they crossed a line that should never have been crossed. He’s her professor, and she’s his student—nothing more.

A true whirlwind romance!
Revisado: 02-17-25
This was such a fun listen. It had great spice but more importantly a great story! I started this book on a weekend where there was severe weather and it was the perfect accompaniment. If you loved the movie Twister and Twisters you’ll love this book!

I was too busy giving Renzo hell to notice we weren’t alone. That was my bad. But seriously, the domineering asshole was asking for it. What followed felt like a drug-induced hallucination— Captured at gunpoint, drugged, then taken hundreds of miles from home. Who could have imagined our escape would only make things worse? Stranded in an arctic wilderness, I’ve had no choice but to rely on him for survival. His body’s warmth and well-honed strength. His instincts and persistence.

Tropes A Plenty
Revisado: 02-12-25
I very much enjoyed the classic tropes of only one bed, stuck in isolation and strong FMC! This one was a little lacking in a griping storyline outside of the main relationship but I really enjoyed watching the relationship grow. The only negative thing I have to say about the audiobook is the female narrator’s way of ending sentences. It was immediately off putting and it annoyed me the entire listen. She did a good job of conveying emotion and other important aspects of narrating but it sounded like she was expelling all of her breath at the end of most sentences. I’d say this book is worth the listen as we get to continue to learn more about the wold Jill has created. I am a fan!

Fun book
Revisado: 01-30-25
This was a light easy listen that was fun. The characters had some development and the general story was intriguing. It wasn’t the best writing but the story did the heavy lifting. The female narrator was really good but the male narrator was lacking. He rushed through the sentences and everything got jumbled together. It got better as the book went on as the character voices were more distinct but it was a bit painful in the beginning.

Amazing!
Revisado: 01-27-25
This is my first Olivia Dade book and it did not disappoint! It was so much fun diving into the world of fanfic and seeing this adorable romance bloom. I loved all of the mental health representation and difficult conversations surrounding learning disabilities and fat shaming. As a mental health counselor it was great to see a healthy portrayal of setting boundaries. As a red haired, plus size, fandom loving individual with ADHD, PCOS, and depression this book means so much to me! This book is well worth your time!

Best of the series so far
Revisado: 01-10-25
This is the best one of the series in my opinion! I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it since it focused on someone outside of the original group, but boy was I wrong. I’m not sure if it was the sweet ‘normal’ start of their romance, how freaking relatable Val was, or the focus on family that got me. I adore the author for putting plus size girls as the main characters who get with these incredibly sexy men who love them. One of the most relatable moments was when Val talked about always having to immediately look for clothes at the back of the rack. Same girl, same. Val’s inner dialogue about not feeling valued or sexy hit really close to home and was incredibly accurate. I still have a hard time believing my husband actually wants me body and all. Anyway if you’re on the fence about starting this one after the first two, just do it!

Keeps you guessing
Revisado: 01-10-24
I liked that the story kept me guessing as to who was the murderer. I can usually guess who it will be in the end but not this time. The performance was not that great. I had a difficult time distinguishing between characters who were talking many times, which was frustrating. But overall it was a good quick read.

Captivating!
Revisado: 12-14-23
I can’t believe it’s the 10th book and I’m still so invested in this story! The characters are funny, philosophical, heroic and deep. As a Christian I find the dialogue about religion and morality really fascinating! There was one line from Taika about the Christian God not liking mixed clothing materials, which I thought was hilarious! It’s something you would understand if you have studied the Old Testament.

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

DNF - not worth the hype
Revisado: 12-04-23
Fourth Wing was just ok and Ion Flame just bad. I love romance fantasy but this story is just annoying. I could not get over the main character complaining about secrets. Could she not look outside of herself for one moment and see that the world doesn’t revolve around her?! The writing could use some serious improvement. The concept for this series is not bad, I just wish the characters didn’t say f&@$ every other sentence. Also, sex scenes can be far more enticing when not everything is described. This seems like the first few books the author has written and it shows. I hope this is a learning experience for Rebecca and will help her grow as a writer. I don’t mind classic troupes, they are classic for a reason, but do them well at least.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Not worth the hype
Revisado: 12-04-23
I love romance fantasy books but this is just not good. The narrator did a good job with the story even if she had a cold like other reviewers are saying. I thought her gasping for breath was a part of the story that helped immerse me into the book. I usually don’t mind a little cursing or a sex scene here and there if it makes sense in the story but this was TOO MUCH! I felt like I needed to wash my brain out after finishing the book. I could tell that this book was setting up the series and didn’t mind the pacing. However, the writing seems very juvenile. I went in wanting a sophisticated story, which was not delivered. Also, the things some of the characters said just did not make any sense.

"Who am I becoming?" That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So, he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life." It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was - and continues to be - the answer he needs. Within this audiobook, you’ll find a fascinating road map to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

Revisado: 06-14-21
This book was a breath of fresh air! It was like breathing in deep and listening to the birds sing happily, letting go of the cares of the world. I highly recommend this book for anyone who feels like their lives are out of control… and really just anyone.
