Super sweet and engaging
Revisado: 12-19-24
Found family, fantasy, and magic! TJ Klune never fails! I enjoy these werewolves more than the typical ones. I love how each character has such a distinct voice and there’s such a nice mix of them.

Best book I’ve read in a while
Revisado: 04-05-24
I DEVOURED this book. It’s been a long time since a book kept me so hooked from the beginning and all the way through. It never felt slow, and I was so invested. The writing is beautiful, the world building is seamless, and the plot is fantastic.

Historia
Delilah Green swore she would never go back to Bright Falls—nothing is there for her but memories of a lonely childhood where she was little more than a burden to her cold and distant stepfamily. Her life is in New York, with her photography career finally gaining steam and her bed never empty. Sure, it’s a different woman every night, but that’s just fine with her.

Powerful and telling. Shines a light on every little thing
Revisado: 09-05-23
A powerful and amazing book. Puts into words everything survivors feel, hidden and not hidden. Shines a light on the legal process, the difficulties, the things you don’t expect or see. Exposes the reality of money and injustice of privilege in the legal system. The emotional damages behind every step, the strength it takes to survive. A realistic look at ptsd and the trauma and results of every part. I’ve never read such a real and raw book that talks about and describes all of these feelings in such an accurate way. Chanel, you are amazing beyond words. Thank you for giving the words to so many survivors, and shining a light on everything from the assault, the trial, to every day life and the realities of all of it.
And through it all, the strength and hope that shines through and perseveres.
On terms of narration, I had no issues listening to her or her voice. While she isn’t a narrator by trade, there is no one else who should be the narrator for this book but her. It is her story. And I loved being able to have her voice along with it.

Historia
The Yellowstone super-volcano nearly wiped out the human race. Now, almost a year after the eruption, the survivors seem determined to finish the job. Communities wage war on each other, gangs of cannibals roam the countryside, and what little government survived the eruption has collapsed completely. The ham radio has gone silent. Sickness, cold, and starvation are the survivors' constant companions. Great culmination of the series
Revisado: 08-29-23
The best book yet and a great culmination of the series! The narration still isn’t great, but if you speed it up it’s better. But the character development throughout the series has been great, and the plot and story as well!

Historia
It’s been over six months since the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. Alex and Darla have been staying with Alex’s relatives, trying to cope with the new reality of the primitive world so vividly portrayed in Ashfall, the first book in this trilogy. It’s also been six months of waiting for Alex’s parents to return from Iowa. Alex and Darla decide they can wait no longer and must retrace their journey into Iowa to find and bring back Alex’s parents to the tenuous safety of Illinois.

Good story, horrible narration
Revisado: 08-21-23
I trudged through the horrible narration because I enjoyed the first book and wanted to continue the series. I think this book is better than the first! But the narration, even though the same narrator (the author) is worse quality in every sense. Speeding it up helped a lot and made it tolerable. If you can do that, I do highly recommend this book! The taekwondo bit was still annoying, but not nearly as present or cringey as the first book.
But really, a super interesting concept and plot, and a good story! Just wish the narrator was better. But worth it for me to trudge through to hear the story! And I’ll do the same so I can listen to the third, because it is good and I enjoyed it!

Great Plot and premise
Revisado: 08-13-23
Great idea for a novel and great plot! I liked the second half better than the first—the taekwondo bit got annoying. It got better as it went along and I was really into it by the end!
The narration wasn’t great, and I was super disappointed to turn on the next book and find the narration (even though it’s the same narrator, the author, is the same) quality, both in narration and quality of the sound, dropped tremendously. I heard they just get better, so I’m trying to push through.
This book has the best quality narration for sure, and I do recommend it!
