Clunky Writing, story that goes nowhere

This story has a lot of disjointed dialogue that causes the narration to end up being clunky and disjointed. The narrator does their best with the content. I struggled to connect with any of the characters and often forgot how many people were in the group and who’s who. The concept ends up being rather boring and in the end I just have to ask myself why this story went nowhere.
