This book is really special. The performance of it only added to the experience. I ended on the notes of heartbreak, understanding, and reflection. Any book that requires you to sit with it for a while before you can possibly move on, is a well written body of work.

There was nothing to dislike! The plot, the character development, the rollercoaster of emotions, and the performance of this book?! The performance…. These men cut up, do you hear me?! I loved this entire masterpiece! Let me just go on and restart this audiobook…

Pretty Good!!

I will start this review by mentioning that I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Shawntay bodied the narration of Chandler. Leo gave us “big country” in spades! They were both great!

Now to this plot: Chandler is more fragile than even she realizes. While she’s a force professionally, emotionally, she was extremely vulnerable. I was extremely glad when she stopped being ridiculous.

Moses is a mess. He is emotionally scarred and scared. One thing about his story line that I didn’t really care for is the wrap up with his family. It was such a huge part of his issues, that the resolution seemed a bit rushed. I’m glad that he got the help that he desperately needed instead of using so many crutches.

I am trying my best not to spoil anything, but the book is definitely worth a listen. I was personally glad to encounter two new to me narrators in addition to a new to me author! Thank you for the privilege!

Baby, this was 🔥!!! The performance as much as the words were everything. Winston and J. Shani took a great story and poured gasoline on top! I’m done raving now; I loved it!

I loved this short story! I loved the performance of it! The banter between these two characters and the way that it was acted out by these two voice actors was everything!! I loved everything about this!!

This work was a complete journey. There were times where I cheered, laughed out loud, but mostly: I cried. I cried for Harry throughout his life and I cried a lot for Meg. I wish them nothing but peace in their future.

Worth the wait!!

I knew the moment that I preordered this book that it would be worth the wait and Baby… it was!! Alexandria House is going to deliver every single time and this book was no exception! The plot, the narrators, the very words, everything about this book was 10/10! There were several good twists and, ultimately, I highly recommend this book!

A Wonderful Performance

Joan spins an excellent tale! This world that she creates in her writing makes you sad to leave the Fort each and every time. Jakobi, however, brings depth and color. His switches of accent and speech for each character, especially the women, are absolutely incredible! I’d preordered this one and can’t wait to be able to preorder my next visit to Fort Independence!!
