Mr Ballen Delivers-As Usual-SUPERB!!!

I’ve only recently discovered the entertainment that is podcasts/storytelling as a mainstream activity and although it took me a while to find the quality that meets my high standards, I found Mr Ballen. He is a fantastic storyteller with such an amazing voice and the remarkable ability to tell stories in such a way that I now understand why radio was such a huge attraction pre-television. He’s captivating, humorous (when appropriate), charismatic and has a very charming vocal presence. I highly recommend his podcasts (or YouTube videos, other types of storytelling media) for most mature audiences (over 13, or so). His content is extremely well written/produced and he’s descriptive without being too graphic. I appreciate the sensitivity that he shows the victims and while he does express a (normal/appropriate) distaste for the perpetrator/s, he’s not overly judgmental. I’ve heard some narrators expressing such sustained for the criminals in their stories, proposing such extreme punishments that I ALMOST felt sorry for the criminal! Not a comfortable emotion to feel when you’re just trying to listen and relax. Neither am I a fan of portraying every victim as some otherworldly saint simply because they were the victim of a heinous crime. Mr Ballen really keeps things in their proper perspective and always tells an interesting story without exaggerating and making the story less than credible, annoying and depicting the people and/or circumstances in a less than credible way. Listening to his stories is so entertaining because he’s very relatable and it’s like listening to a very familiar, trusted friend who you’ve known for years. As a new-ish fan/COVID-19 era fan I am hooked on Mr Ballen, a rare gem in a over crowded field of wannabe influencers who are trying too hard and still doing all the wrong things.
