The first book in the Trackers series grabbed me from the beginning and even when I needed to take a break, I couldn't. The world of Raven, Creek, and Smith's other characters is so realistic, it's scary which of course is what he intended. Well, written, fast paced and a fantastic narrator. I can't wait to read the next book.

It's obvious the writer has done his research as the technical aspects are accurate without being overwhelming.

I read all the reviews and knew this was going to be a good series. I haven’t been disappointed gong back and forth between audible and kindle reading listening and then again slowly savoring each book not wanting them to end but wanting to know what’s going to happen. Double those stars! 10s I love Carolyn Crane. I know I’m going to hate it when this series ends!

It was terribly slow getting started mostly because of the narrator. Just horrible and it's obvious she has another voice because the voice for the nice handsome character was appealing but the main character is from Texas and she didn't even attempt an accent.

I persevered and will purchase at least the second book to read physically, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it more. Entertaining. Just pass on the audio version. They really should have offered to bundle this one.

I loved this book in paperback and loved it more on audio. Kirsten Potter did and excellent job of reading the talented Joanna Bourne. I'd read another of either of their historical romances.

Molly Harper is usually an automatic buy for me eventually. I loved this book, which was sometimes laugh out loud funny but Ms. Ronconi's narration or the story, not sure which drag a bit sometimes. And I found myself saying, no, why would she do that? or "That doesn't make sense." Still I'd recommend it.

Hooked me from the start

I normally read more mystery style vampire books, like Molly Harper or Tate Hallaway but I got hooked on J.R.Rain's Vampire for Hire series from the start. I had to have them all and read to the end. After reading the first book I had to go look up the author to see if it was a man or a woman because he does Samantha Moon's first person point of view so well. Sure there are the tell tale clues that he's a man once you get into it, but still it was throughly enjoyable.

Why I didn't buy them all at one time, "I don't know". Lol, he must say that a thousand times but I found myself rather than being annoyed being tickled when in a later book he changed it to "I JUST didn't know". It's his style, it's Sam's voice. I'm okay with that.

His keeps you guessing at the end of each book. Definitely read them in order and pick up the short stories as well.

Dina Pearlman actually acts the part of Sam in this book. It's very well done. I've heard her before but never quite this good. I've found too that sometimes the book dictates how the narrator reads and it's not their fault if they sound different. On another audible book, I moved my ipod to a faster read and that fixed the problem with the slow narration.

If you like private eyes, a different vampire world, or just a plain good read, try the Vampire for Hire series.

The Bridegroom Wore Plaid Audiolibro Por Grace Burrowes arte de portada

Fantastic narrator makes great book better

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love the author and this narration made the book even better. Roger Hampton read all Scottish and English characters beautifully and even though the narration was great it only served to make listening to Grace Burrowes' wonderful prose that much better. I'll look for him on other books.

I'm finding that I enjoy a male narrator better for romance novels.

What other book might you compare The Bridegroom Wore Plaid to and why?

Maybe Outlander because of the Scottish/English romance and great reading, not the time period or time travel genre.

Have you listened to any of Roger Hampton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No but I will

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. And one I'll listen to again and again like Davina Porter's of the Outlander series.

A Secret Affair Audiolibro Por Mary Balogh arte de portada

Couldn't listen to a favorite book

Would you try another book from Mary Balogh and/or Anne Flosnik?

I'd try any book by Ms. Balogh if a different narrator. I saw better than average reviews for the performance so I gave it a chance. Couldn't finish the first chapter with this narrator. And I love love Mary Balogh.

I'm finding that I don't care for quite a few of the narrators of the historical romances. On the other hand, I recently purchased Grace Burrowes' The Bridegroom Wore Plaid' which had a male narrator, Roger Hampton, who did a fabulous job, bringing the story to life and creating a great listening experience. Why not use some male narrators if the female narrators don't read men well. Ms. Flosnik made the men in A Secret Affair sound old and stodgy. Very disappointed because I would eventually have purchased all the Huxtable books in audio to go along with my physical copies. She is a keeper.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Flosnik’s performances?

I'll listen to a sample of other books but not this series.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I did love the book in kindle and paperback.
