Where does Remedy for a Broken Angel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Remedy For A Broken Angel is one of the best audiobooks I've listened to so far.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Artie's struggle to survive negotiating the wounds she's paired with the real violations of her self-involved mother makes for a vivid and compelling heroine. Challenged by circumstances that confound and could destroy her, Artie emerges victorious. Artie discovers relationship with her mother transcends even death and makes valuable discoveries about what that might mean for her future and the possibility of peacemaking.
Which character – as performed by Toni Ann Johnson – was your favorite?
All of the characters as read here by the author are vividly performed with an actor's mastery. Ms. Johnson flows in and out of roles as the narrator and characters jumping from Standard American English to New Yorican, to Bermudian and more characterizations vocally making the reading as vivid and compelling as the writing itself.
