So tired of the mansplaining

Let me start by saying I used to loved each Anita Blake book. In the beginning they had a great mix of romance, mystery, and description. Now 95% of each book is mansplaining each concept that crosses any characters mind. Male or female. The over the top explaination of things and then turning around and reexplaining is tiresome. The book is short, and not filled with much action. The ending is abrupt and leaves a few questions. I'm so dissatisfied that if I could return the book I would. Even though I own every book in this series, I won't be buying more. I may check them out from the library, but no preorders and one clicks. I think at this point in the series it's just about the author writing books with so much filler to make money. There is no closure in sight and this is book 28. The characters haven't grown much over the 28 books. I'm being vague cause there is only a few things of note happen in this book and if I talk about it, it can ruin it.

This is one of my fav series. The narration is spot on. The war is starting. Can’t wait to listen to more.

Whew. No cliffhanger with this one. Then ending is and open ending, as in their mission isn’t finished but all is ok for now. A lot of things develop and some things are working themselves out. I really liked the dynamic between all the characters. The flow was nice and steady without being overwhelming. Overall a great listen.

I love this series so much! The narration is perfect. You will want to start from the beginning if you start this series with book three, or there will be spoilers if you read them out of order. Pick them all up, you won’t be disappointed. Ebony cracks me up. So prim and proper. Henry is perfect for her.

Oh I loved this one! At first I thought Minnie was a spoiled annoying girl, doing that to her neighbor. But when she realized that maybe she was overdoing it, she calmed down a bit, and we got to know the real Minnie. Which is quirky and sweet. Garrison is as grumpy as can be, and sworn off everyone. I felt for him and what he went through. I really liked them as a couple, they really balance each other.

Omg! Best book I have listened to in a while. It ended much too soon, however I think I was to fault for that. You will want to devour it all in one sitting like myself. I just loved Gia and Rhett! I am trying not to give any spoilers here, so just trust me you will be shocked at some of the twists. I cannot freakin wait for Kiera and Jesse's book. This is my go to author, she is talented and can sure spin a story. Pick up your copy now, you won't be disappointed. I never am when I read a Nicole Garcia book. The narration as always was spot on. Love Kai and Wen.

Omg! I loved this book so much. It was unpredictable, and highly entertaining. The setting was complex and well developed. The characters are thought out and well rounded. I do wish this was a full length novel, as I really loved everything about it. It was longer than some short stories, it had enough meat and bones to keep you thoroughly entertained. The narration was excellent.

I’ve read some Lia Davis books before, so I knew what to expect somewhat. I’ve never listen to this narrator before, and all I can say is wow. The combo of them both made one fantastic listen. They are lethal together. The voices and tones was spot on, the flow was smooth. The writing is exciting and fast paced, but not too fast. The ending was crazy, and gets you pumped for book two. I loved it!

This is the third in the series. Elliot has recovered from the trials, after missing all summer. Things are heating up between her and her men. Of course things go wrong. It’s expected from reading the first two, things are not solved. While I really liked the book, I think the audio just didn’t fit with this one. It may be me, but I was hoping for more of a serious tone of voice, and the narrator is just a bit too peppy, for me. Some books it’s ok to have an upbeat tone, and some it’s required. But I think it’s out of context in this one. Just my opinion. I think the writing is good as come to be expected from Sadie Moss. Overall, I liked the story very much, just wished the narrator could have given her tone of voice a bit more serious and grit.
