Close, but lacking.

Overall an okay story, but the combat scenes were lacking any detail or suspense.

Historia
The life story of Gary Gygax, godfather of all fantasy adventure games, has been told only in bits and pieces. Michael Witwer has written a dynamic, dramatized biography of Gygax from his childhood in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, to his untimely death in 2008. Gygax's magnum opus, Dungeons & Dragons, would explode in popularity throughout the 1970s and '80s and irreversibly alter the world of gaming. D&D is the best-known, best-selling role-playing game of all time, and it boasts an elite class of alumni.

Gygax, a relationship creator.
Revisado: 02-14-23
This was focused on the life of E. Gary Gygax and his walk through how he arrived at creating one of the best games for forging friendship with people and allowing introverts a way to connect with others in a non threatening social event by playing his games.
This book is more about the man, than his business (TSR.) One thing to note is that this is written in a style that takes a few liberties, which can be overlooked as helping the story flow.
Nice to know that Gygax knew Jesus. No, dungeons and dragons is not a manual to summon Satan and/or demonic creatures... I still don't quite understand how people jumped to that conclusion, but it made my childhood difficult in playing... my parents (though 40 years have since past,) still think it's demon worshipping.

Historia
The original Dungeons & Dragons released by TSR (Tactical Studies Rules) in 1974 created a radical new medium: the role-playing game. For the next two decades, TSR rocketed to success. But by 1997, a series of ruinous choices and failed projects brought TSR to the edge of doom—only to be saved by their fiercest competitor, Wizards of the Coast. Unearthed from Ben Riggs’s own adventurous campaign of in-depth research, interviews with major players, and acquisitions of secret documents, Slaying the Dragon reveals the true story of the rise and fall of TSR.

Eye opening story of the rise and fall of TSR.
Revisado: 08-30-22
Wow!!! Never knew a tenth of how it fell. I grew up during this era, owned, played and went through the "occult" speeches that everyone thought the players were involved with. Even today, my parents think I dabble in the occult and going to HELL because I still play.
This is a good book to reminisce those times, it's a greater book to answer questions I had with what happened to TSR.
I grew up with TSR, and I miss her, this book helps me with closure to why my friend disappeared.
Gygax forever!

Not objective at all
Revisado: 08-06-21
If you want to understand QAnon, this pod cast is not for you... The "documentary" is totally against QAnon without any supporting proof -- This is not doing anyone any good, unless you have already made your decision that QAnon is a farce and created to destroy America. QAnon existed before President Trump took office, but the presenter acts as if this was a movement created especially for Trump and his vision to "destroy American Democracy." Not worth your while.

Great story, meh performance
Revisado: 09-08-19
Great story, performance could have been better. There were parts where the guy performers voice was doing the female's monologue and they're were parts where the woman was doing the guy's monologue... Sometimes annoying, but the story was good.

Initially, I thought that this title was combat veterans doing comedy bits, but it was informational of how comedy helps veterans that are struggling with PTSD... And offers the listener why comedy is a great outlet for these veterans.

Robin Cook does it again...
Revisado: 08-06-18
I've been listening to Robin Cook for years. Everyone the family takes a long drive on vacation, it's usually Robin that's playing. Great medical mystery, as always, though i miss the usual characters that Robin's older work has that we came to love. Not saying that without them, the story is bad .. it's not, the story has several twists and turns that keep you guessing on what is next... If you like medical mysteries, you can't go won't with Robin!

Not very informative... Very high level, absract
Revisado: 09-07-17
Very high level, abstract thoughts and concepts... Kept saying that everyone is diffrent and that asperegers can not be defined to any one symtpom. Granted that the syndrome is psychological and most psychologist are afraid to putting the stick inhe sand, due to being exposed to ability, but... certainly wish that the author could give back the hour plus of time I just wasted.
