Historia
A year and a half into our marriage, I found out my husband had been having an affair with a 19-year-old for six months. I filed for divorce and left. Two weeks later I met a man, and we fell madly in love. It was a fairy-tale romance for a month and a half, and he convinced me to join him on a romantic month-long vacation in Italy. Forty-eight hours before we were supposed to get on a plane, he told me he needed to go by himself. I was devastated. So, I had a decision to make. Either stay home and be heartbroken, or go travel Europe for a month by myself.

too many fucks. I love using the dynamic word, however, overuse, in.my opinion, loses it's impact

otherwise great story. I, too, went to Europe and No. Africa on my own. I had a good cry (what was I doing) before I left and found it to be quite liberating. sometimes wished I was more alone since other travellers would join in.

The Christmas party at the Sea Glass Inn is a long-held tradition, one the townspeople of Blackbird Beach consider the kick-off of the Christmas season. Until, of course, the inn closed, and the party stopped happening. Now Georgia Carpenter has decided it’s time to restart that tradition, even though the party is a massive undertaking and one that will influence how people feel about the inn for the rest of the year. With the help of her sister, Lilly, Georgia hopes to put on an event that will be merry and bright and spark new interest in the business.

O, personally, found the change of voices for a single character to be distuptive. The male voices especially were dystonic.
I did listen to all 8 bks in a row. That may have contributed to my problem.. Hearing Travis' dialogue in a feminine tone just didn't make it.

When Sandra Leigh was seven years old, she fell into the role of protector of her mother and three younger siblings. One winter night, she ushered her mother out of the house during one of her father’s tirades, and then snuck her back into the dark home through a window. Sandra was used to events like these; what she wasn’t used to were the mountains and nature surrounding her new home in West Virginia.

poor me story
Revisado: 08-30-22
this story started out alright. About half way thru it got pretty darned ridiculous with Sandras lamenting over her dead baby sibling. that dragged on with such negativity I had to fast forward a lot. Too maudlin. i know these these situations are real being a psycotherapist.
I guess I dont need to listen to these sad situations unless some kind of lesson comes out of the ending, not the poor me endless dialogue.

such awesome work, an understatement
Revisado: 06-27-22
episode 13 ending remarks are so powerful to those of us who are so sickened by our government's CORRUPTION. This country's politicians (so many in power by wealth) are nothing more than narcissistic, which unfortunately reflects on the tone of our country. We have no grace to criticize other countries for their behavior !
Thanks
