Historia
Meet Detective Maddie Ives in this absolutely gripping, race-against-time series opener from best-selling author Charlie Gallagher. A young woman’s body is left in a metal container in a remote location. The killer is careful to position her under a camera that links to his smartphone. He likes to look back at his work. He is watching her. But she isn’t dead. So he will return to finish the job. He can barely contain his excitement at the thought of getting to do it all over again. But he must be careful. He cannot rush. Rushing makes you careless....

Fairly disappointed
Revisado: 08-06-24
The story lacked depth and believability. I didn’t care about the characters at all. I was eager for the story to end.

Historia
The sleepy town of Heartsdale, Georgia, is jolted into panic when Sara Linton, the town's pediatrician and coroner, finds Sibyl Adams, a young college professor, dead in the local diner. As well as being viciously raped, Sibyl has been cut: two deep knife wounds form a lethal cross over her stomach. But it's only once Sara starts to perform the postmortem that the full extent of the killer's brutality starts to become clear.

Grizzly murder mystery in a southern town
Revisado: 08-27-12
If you could sum up Blindsighted in three words, what would they be?
Grizzly, thoughtful, suspenseful
Would you recommend Blindsighted to your friends? Why or why not?
I enjoyed the book over all, mostly because of Judith Ivy's amazing voice and accents. The story was great in parts, but had some gaps and pieces that annoyingly, didn't quite fit together. I thought the character development was good, and it was this aspect, and the broken marriage piece, that for me, held the writing together.
Which character – as performed by Judith Ivey – was your favorite?
Sarah Linton
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Sarah's speech to Jeffrey about him not calling her after her revelation of an immense dark event in her past.
Any additional comments?
This book is the author's first. It's possible she has learned to tighten up loose ends in subsequent works. I would try another by her because I enjoy the genre and I love the south, which is where the stories are set.

Grizzly but beautiful
Revisado: 02-13-12
What made the experience of listening to Winter's Bone the most enjoyable?
I love the narrator so much, I'll seek her out to hear additional books read by her.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Winter's Bone?
I think I got a picture of Ree, the main character, in the opening moments of the story as she looks across the creek in front of her house longingly at meat hanging in a neighbor's yard.
Have you listened to any of Emma Galvin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I look forward to.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
An inside look at the lives of the life of the mountain Ozark people...
Any additional comments?
I selected this book based on a very enthusiastic comment written by someone else. I think that comment should remain the top one. The writer said she had never before been inspired to write a comment...
