According to the narrator, all the different alien species have accents from England, Scotland, Germany, Scandinavia, France, and Russia. At least it helped to differtiate between the characters which is better than no differentiation at all! It was good for a laugh...

The narrator spoke so softly with little variation that I had difficulty hearing him, even at full volume. it was had to tell characters apart.

Missed Opportunity

The author set up a good plot line in which shifters on earth had been disappearing for years. They were being kidnapped and enslaved on an alternate world. Our main characters on earth discover they are being taken thru a portal and endeavor to work with the rebels on that world to save their family members who were enslaved. This was an intriguing plot line that was not advanced hardly at all over the 5 books. Instead, the focus was on the love interests with only a sliver of plot development in each book. That made the books a lot less interesting for me.

Very Good Read

Interesting world building and plot line. Got a bit tired of female lead's bias and stubbornness but her character does show growth. Both narrators were excellent but editors fell down on the job with repeated lines, and most annoying, increased speed on numerous chapters read by male narrator.
