I watched Olly’s YouTube videos first. He’s a wonderful human being. I tried Pimsleur first, and it was painfully slow. I happened upon this audiobook because I was looking for a replacement, and I love stories, so I searched out Russian short stories. When I made the connection that Olly was the creator (I usually tune out advertising), I was thrilled. When I found out there was an accompanying Kindle book that you could follow along with as you listened, I was beyond thrilled. I’ve only been learning Russian a few weeks, and taking this approach is like drinking from a firehose, but from a firehose of refreshing knowledge on a hot summer day of ignorance. This is exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you, Olly! Спасибо!

I 100% recommend this book to anyone who is interested in playing the banjo. It’s possible some could find it too fast, or others too redundant, but by playing along with EVERYTHING, you just tighten up your playing so well. If it’s too fast, slow down the playback speed. If it’s too slow, skip ahead to other lessons. This is a serious wealth of banjo knowledge and my only complaint is it was priced too low, this author deserves to live like a king for creating this book. Thank you, sir!

While there are many stimulating topics covered in this book, the authors automatic dismissal of religion, faith, and free will, ensure the book -just like life without these things-is rather pointless. We are all, supposedly, just rats in a maze, at least that’s what he would have you believe. If you decide to read this, do so with a healthy dose of skepticism throughout, for if you do not, you may fall victim to nihilistic ideas, and that’s the last thing this world needs more of.
