Historia
From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

Hearing Jordan speak raises questions this, the first book he published, answers. It lays the foundation for his 12-Rules.

Historia
"Sixty years ago I found myself distracted," Eugene Peterson writes. "A chasm had developed between the way I was preaching from the pulpit and my deepest convictions on what it meant to be a pastor."
And so began Peterson's journey to live and teach a life of congruence - congruence between preaching and living, between what we do and the way we do it, between what is written in scripture and how we live out that truth.
Nothing captures the biblical foundation for this journey better than Peterson's teachings over his 29 years as a pastor.

Historia
Entrepreneurship is more popular than ever: courses are full, policymakers emphasize new ventures, managers yearn to go off on their own. Would-be founders often misplace their energies, however. Believing in a "big money" model of entrepreneurship, they spend a lot of time trying to attract investors instead of using wits and hustle to get their ideas off the ground.

Historia
What makes one novel a bestseller, while a similar work languishes unnoticed? Why are the same few baby names suddenly everywhere? Why is everyone talking about that viral video? Welcome to the science of social epidemics: the cutting-edge study of why some ideas, products, and concepts spread wildly, while others quickly flame out. Anyone who has something to sell, a cause to promote, or a message to spread knows that there are obstacles in creating a message that resonates, spreads, and sticks to make their product or idea the word on the street. Enormous sums of time and money have been spent trying to answer the question of why some ideas catch on. And not only is it an ever-present challenge for businesses, governments, and organizations, but it has long been a source of inquiry for psychologists, economists, and sociologists as well.

Coincidence
Revisado: 12-16-15
By chance I'm listening to this coming up on our last meeting of Socrates Cafe in Denver Colorado that started the Friday after 911. The Panera Bread Cafe is closing. We were inspired by Chris Phillips book Socrates Cafe, after being awakened to the need to gather by Robert Putman's very popular book back then Bowling Alone. So we've started with the living word. Nathan Pollack who has been the Socrates of our group if anyone could be called that, has recently given me his copy of the dialogs, the first book he ever bought with his own money, lighten the last ad as he nears the end of his life which grows near. Yes, I'm very drawn to the idea after listening to these very fine lectures an that experience of the last 14?+ years of the living word, to play with the dialogs.
