I wasn’t sure I would like this 1960 tale about 3 country brothers whose city boy cousin comes for a visit, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Last Summer Boys is a true tale of what life was like for some people back then, with the right touch of adventure, trauma, and (shockingly) a good peek at politics.

I’m thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and I hope you give it a shot!

So I listened to The Dispatcher on audio, and the narrator was perfect for this book.

I find myself asking what did I just read? I have to admit that when I started The Dispatcher, I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it, but it ended up being pretty awesome.

This is a story unlike any I’ve heard before, with a touch of fantasy/sci-fi/awesomeness. I liked how they took a sciencey/futuristic approach to your modern day missing persons story.

When I saw “dispatcher” I immediately thought of 911 operators, so to have such a vastly different experience was fun.

This was a short but sweet book but still incredibly well done. I highly recommend this one, I loved it so much I’m debating starting it again!

The narrator for The Fifth Victim is phenomenal. She did so well that there were times I forgot I was only listening to one person and that multiple people were not actually speaking.

I did have some things that bothered me, like the author referring to the penis as a "sex" and that was kind of weird. “My sex got hard” just doesn’t do it for me. Seemed like a lot of old school sex talk, or only using “sex” as the descriptor for a penis.

There were also random glitchy-type pauses where I'm not sure if there was a lost word or if that gap was how that passage was supposed to be presented.

I really loved Jenny/Genevieve in the story. She had psychic abilities and would receive visions of future events. She received enough information to know that bad things are happening/about to happen but not the full extent of those events.

I really loved Dallas Slone as well, he is a hunk of an FBI agent. He’s totally alpha male hot, and a stubborn non-believer. My favorite aspect of these two characters are the changes Jenny creates in Dallas that he, nor the reader, ever saw coming.

I was a little disappointed in the ending, it seemed fo fall short with all the previous buildup.

I would still recommend this book though, it was a good read!

Sixth Sense by Marilyn Baron is an interesting tale about a lady who has visions, and a jackass detective who thinks all psychics are quacks.

Both Cate and Jack deal with a lot on this journey to find a serial killer, but what makes the hard stuff better is how much they learn about themselves.

I gave this book 4 stars because everything moved really quickly, and while suspenseful the answers were always obvious. Along with that everything was solved so easy peasy and I found that to be a bit of a turn off.

As much as the above mentioned things bothered me, I find myself wanting the second book, to see where things go. I could easily be done after Sixth Sense because it snd ties up and pretty, but there’s another case to solve, and so much more Cate & Jack to explore!

I loveeeeed this story!

Good Side of Sin is book 3 in the Save my Soul series by K.S Haigwood, and each book just gets better and better!

I listened to this one on audio, and I was worried I was going to hate it, after meeting these characters in the former books, but I’m pleased to inform you that it’s a fantastic book!

If you were challenged to save heaven AND earth, while battling feelings and the challenges of a new relationship, AND while trying to teach the new guy the ropes, could you do it? Me? Probably not.

Josalyn is one of the realest characters in this book. Yes, she’s an angle, but she feels and thinks like the average person. You’d think, given the fact that she’s an angel, that everything would be a virtual walk in the park.

Haigwood writes such good books, with story lines that don’t get boring, and aren’t redundant. This book was a trip, I’ll tell you that. And it is worth every single second!

First things first- this narrator <fans face> hot AF, he can read me a story any time!

I LOVE a good narrator and this guy hits the mark.

We meet Ryhan in book 1, Save My Soul and he’s a lovable, if not frustrating guardian angel. This story is about him, not his charge Kendra from book one, and it’s a thrilling experience to watch him battle the depths of hell.

K.S Haigwood does a fantastic job of making Be paranormal feel normal. And I’m not sure why, but angels and Demons give me a weird kind of hope that there may actually be a heaven. I know, I know this book is fiction, but Haigwood is THAT good!

I highly recommend this book, and hope you enjoy these new characters as much as I did!

I’ve never been a fan of the werewolves/vampire thing (twilight totally scarred me) but I loved this book!

I read it shortly after it released, and it was just as addicting as the first time around.

What I loved about the audible edition, is that even though I wasn’t reading the words, I was still able to visualize everything that was happening- with minimal need to rewind (which is huge- I have the attention span of a gold fish haha)

The narrator does a fantastic job of bringing this book to life. Her voice is enjoyable to listen to and my only complaint is her lack of proper emotional expression.
Example: Mena snaps something to another character- but Pyper says it in a soft docile voice. I would have loved for a little fire behind those words, and that’s surely how they would have been said in real life.

Other than that this is a great, quick listen! Definitely recommend this series.

I’m kind of at a loss on what to say about this book. I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t love it. A lot has to do with the narrator, I believe. In every natural pause she’d take a deep, very audible breath and it drove me batty.

For most of the book I LOVED Kendra (our leading lady) but when she starts working with two “weird” kids, she gets kinda rude and that was really off putting.

The story line was original, and I did enjoy that. It felt a little cliche, but a good read nonetheless. I know this is book one, but I don’t know if I would read/listen to book 2. I’d have to see who the characters were, and what the storyline is like.

So I may be a little bias, but I LOVED this book. I read an advanced copy a couple years back before it came out, and I didn’t really remember all that had happened, BUT I knew I loved it- so when I was given the opportunity to listen to it I jumped super quick.

Charlie is a tough character for me to talk about. I loved her, and she came across very real to me, but I also feel like I am her. .. just 14 years older! 👀 oops.
Anyways, I’m hoping in Part 2 she learns to love her self a little more. The growth she experienced through book one pleased my soul!

Sean Reese is total jail bait, but damn if he’s not a top contender for book boyfriend of the year. He’s a little messed up, but it works for him. I’m very curious to see what happens to him in book 2! Hopefully all things good!

Seriously though, if you haven’t read or listened to this book yet DO IT! Yes it’s Teen/YA- but it’s so darn good!
