Historia
In June 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, a couple with two young sons, were led separately from their prison cells on Death Row and electrocuted moments apart. Both had been convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage for the Soviet Union, despite the fact that the US government was aware that the evidence against Ethel was shaky at best and based on the perjury of her own brother. This book is the first to focus on one half of that couple for more than 30 years, and much new evidence has surfaced since then.

I do not think Ethel Rosenberg was treated justly. Basically I think she was find guilty purely based on association.

Historia
Los Angeles in the 1960s and '70s was the pop cultural capital of the world - a movie factory, a music factory, a dream factory. Eve Babitz was the ultimate factory girl, a pure product of LA. The goddaughter of Igor Stravinsky and a graduate of Hollywood High, Babitz posed in 1963, at age 20, playing chess with the French artist Marcel Duchamp. She was naked; he was not. The photograph, cheesecake with a Dadaist twist, made her an instant icon of art and sex. Babitz spent the rest of the decade rocking and rolling on the Sunset Strip, honing her notoriety.

Trash
Revisado: 08-08-23
If trashy gossip and name dropping are your thing, this is the book for you. Definitely not for me. Just try to stay awake listening to it. I fell asleep a number of times but felt I hadn't missed anything other than the different names that had been dropped. .Made me glad I never got into that "scene", as I had wanted to when a teenager.

Historia
In May 1971, Pam Jackson and Sherri Miller were two seventeen-year-olds driving to an end-of-the-school-year party in a rundown Studebaker Lark, when they seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth. Police back then didn't do enough to try and find them. Investigators thirty years later did too much. Two families endure decades of pain as they await answers of what happened to their girls. When a third family is pulled into the mystery, they quickly learn their nightmare is just beginning.

Sad
Revisado: 07-29-23
I prefer written word to audio books but audio is nice for a change up. I feel Mr. Raguse must have done considerable research as there was a lot presented. It is a shame that there was so much "false info" and "false memories" that caused 3 families so much anguish. The author did a great job explaining these in the end chapters.

Historia
Maxwell Smart was eleven years old when his entire family was killed before his eyes. He might have died along with them, but his mother selflessly ordered him to save himself. Alone in the forest, he dug a hole in the ground for shelter and foraged for food in farmers’ fields. His clothes in rags and close to starvation, he repeatedly escaped death at the hands of Nazis and Ukrainian thugs.

True history
Revisado: 07-21-23
Boring at times, very interesting at times. The narration took away from it for me. I was very happy that the author found his "auntie", Janek's family, and the baby he and Janek had saved. it is truly amazing that this young boy survived the brutality of WW II. It is a sad account and yet a happy one too of a time when the world was a very dangerous place and this young boy/man put humanity into an inhumane world.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Moving
Revisado: 04-28-23
Prince Harry sounded so refined. I found myself feeling, really feeling, for him. He became a very real person to me. How very difficult to be born a royal. How very difficult to marry into such a family. I thought very frequently "Why don't they just let them be" as I had often felt about his mother. I definitely saw his father in a very different light. I believe this book to be Harry's catharsis and I wish him and his family well.

I would read it again (only of course I listened to it). I felt swept up into it. I had a suspicion about Dominicans true nature although I was surprised by the ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
