Historia
For GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton, McAlpine Lodge seems like the ideal getaway to celebrate their honeymoon. Set on a gorgeous, off-the-grid mountaintop property, it’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. Until a bone-chilling scream cuts through the night. Mercy McAlpine, the manager of the Lodge, is dead. With a vicious storm raging and the one access road to the property washed out, the murderer must be someone on the mountain. But as Will and Sara investigate the McAlpine family and the other guests, they realize that everyone here is lying.

Slaughter gives us the next piece of Will and Sarah's story with all the brilliance and twisted storytelling you expect. I can't get enough of her books!

Slaughter nails it...again!
Revisado: 08-25-23
I expected greatness, and she delivered. I love the Will and Sarah story, and the crimes she weaves are always u predictable and well told. Karin Slaughter does an amazing job writing female characters. Her compassion is evident in the voices she gives victims and the heroines. My only complaint is she can't write these books fast enough.

What could be more restful than a weekend getaway with family and friends? An isolated luxury cabin in the woods, spectacular views, a hot tub and a personal chef. Hannah’s generous brother found the listing online. The reviews are stellar. It'll be three couples on this trip with good food, good company and lots of R & R. But the dreamy weekend is about to turn into a nightmare.

Not my favorite of her work. Something about the story didn't work for me; over complicated.

You've heard the rumors, seen the headlines, but I never understood the depths of his addiction. I have no idea how he is alive, not only alive, but was able to play such an amazing character on one of television's greatest shows. Great story. Sad story. I will watch his work with a new perspective. I hope he really knows he is enough now.

(spoiler) Loved it!! But didn't Lavender give the necklace to his witness to give to him? I wish that would have happened in the end. The symbolism would have provided some additional closure.

It took all I had to finish this
Revisado: 10-12-22
The plot was weak and so drawn out. The attempts to convey drama/distress were phoney and repetitive. The narration is almost painful to listen to. The character of Alex is so robotic I had to walk away numerous times. I love a good twist, but I cannot reccomend this book. Having to endure the entire story isn't worth the twist in the end.
