Excellent inclusion author
Revisado: 08-08-24
I love the way this author incorporates Johnathan’s autism in a real and relatable way, and now epilepsy too. What a great read, I’m dying for the next one!

Historia
England, 1865: Newspaper columnist Lady Katherine Bascomb finds herself the subject of speculation when her latest article leads to an arrest in the murders plaguing London. The English believe women ought not to write about such vulgar things as crime, and a particularly attractive detective inspector is incensed that she's interfered with his investigation. To escape her sudden notoriety, Katherine heads to the country - only to witness a murder upon her arrival.

Came for the mystery, it was spoiled by the character’s terrible chemistry
Revisado: 08-01-24
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good murder mystery with a dash of romance. The author did write the mystery well. But the chemistry between her characters was terrible. MC met a new friend in the first chapter and by the second chapter, they were treating each other like old besties, knowing everything about each other. There was zero development and it felt so fake. The romance was the same. Went from zero to 100 with nothing in between. There was an open door spicy scene that I skipped because I’m not into that, but it was super annoying it was there because there wasn’t much tension or build up into it, just jumping into bed together. Really poorly done and it took away from what was otherwise a good story

Aidyn Kelley is talented, ambitious, and ready for a more serious assignment than the fluff pieces she’s been getting as a cub reporter for the Kansas City Star. In her eagerness, she pushes too hard, earning herself the menial task of writing an obituary for an unremarkable woman who’s just entered hospice care.

I loved this story of faith told from a spunky old lady who lifts and inspires those around her.

Historia
With her inquisitive mind, Charlotte Holmes has never felt comfortable with the demureness expected of the fairer sex in upper-class society. Great neurodiverse characters!
Revisado: 11-02-23
I was so glad to stumble on this book, I read lots but it has been a long time since I’ve read one I so thoroughly enjoyed! I woke up every morning eager to read a little more. The author does an excellent job of incorporating some neurodiverse characters. It is such an exciting genderswap of Sherlock Holmes, I was excited every time a new familiar character was introduced.

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

New head cannon
Revisado: 09-12-22
This is now how the story ends for Lydia in my head. I loved this story. I only took one star off of the performance because, why did they keep using country/western music?

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 02-23-22
I think the book was good, but the reader ruined it for me. Her tone was so condescending, as if reading to a child. Like a grandma reading to a five year old. So annoying!
