An interesting discourse of the author’s journey. Collaboration within the public space is critical, especially in third world countries with repressive governments backed by the military and western powers. However, expecting the UNO and UNESCO to protect freedom of speech is a pipe dream because they are minions of vested interests. Recently a journalist, Arshad Sharif, was persecuted and driven out of Pakistan, pursued, and then brutally murdered. Many others have fled the country for fear of their lives. No indignation or uproar in mainstream media like in the case of Jamal Khashoggi. Could it be that the hallowed halls of network media have a selective agenda
