Historia
As the new owner of the worst business in history, Jack has a lot on his plate. His self-appointed “biggest fan” wants to finally meet, and won’t take no for an answer. The annoying cultists are back and cultier than ever. Plus, there’s a creature living under the building's crawlspace that must be fed regularly (or else). To top it all off, the entire town’s collective memories have been haphazardly rewritten, and Jack's placement in these recollections are decidedly unflattering.

Heck, yeah! A great finale to a truly odd story!
Revisado: 03-22-24
Man, what a wild ride! I loved this series!
It reminds me that I had once played in a GURPS game, and due to some truly odd choices I had made, it led to a perfect confluence of events that led to a wildly different pathway for the game to progress.
Letting a powerful mage NPC who had been labotomized perform a lightning powered brain transfer out of his body and into our group healer's unconscious body. So, instead of having him be under control of an NPC ally, I had inadvertently allowed him to run around and do things in the background for the campaign.
I was then given the game trait "Weirdness Magnet." This led to me rolling a special dice at the beginning of every session and again occasionally at appropriate times. This let our game master do just the wildest things, including adding aliens, time & space portals, and occasionally having dead NPCs hanging out and making commentary in my characters head.
This whole series is just Weirdness Magnet, the books.

Another fantastic entry!
Revisado: 05-09-23
Andrea once again gave varied voices to many, many characters. many old, some new.
So many meetings as characters introduced in books 1 or 2 finally crossed paths and some things finally getting resolved!
My favorite points were probably the night before the battle and then during it. Erin has matured so much throughout the series, and I can say she has become one of my favorite characters.
Some of the book was rough, though, as a number of characters exited the stage. I got a bit teary-eyed there near the end.
There were a few fake-outs that made me narrow my eyes and shout in disbelief. As were were led to believe several more characters were taken from us... But I do think it was more or less characters' plot-armor being officially broken.

Somebody miscounted, 21/25 promised stories.
Revisado: 05-08-23
To lead off, the stories were pretty good and chilling in their own right. Mr. Creepypasta delivers a solid voice to the works presented here.
But as the title of my review states, there are only 21 stories here. I had to do a double take when I went over the chapters and was somewhat disappointed there. I mean, 84% is still a B, as grades go. But somebody definitely didn't count right.
I did some looking around online, and the number of stories isn't listed on the title page like it is here. So I mostly wonder if some stories just didn't make it into the Audible work? Or perhaps someone simply got the number wrong? I don't know.

Now, that was a great series of stories!
Revisado: 02-05-23
The performance was rock solid all the way through.
The first story was the most intense and had the biggest test of will. The next 2 were fun and kind of whacky but had a lot of great things about them. The left field addition of some narrative devices and silver bullets made me laugh. I enjoyed the call-out references and nods to his previous work.
Ross was great, and Bruford, am I spelling that right? He was the best supporting psychic character.
Also, that ending scene was very literal, and I pretty much agree with what he said. What even is a retrieval system? It should also definitely be up to the author as to whether you're allowed to recreate any works.

Historia
An army of monsters walks among us, hidden in plain sight. They're fast. They're strong. They're unrelenting. And they only want one thing: The shitty gas station at the edge of town. Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Jack - night-shift clerk and local crazy person - has found himself neck-deep in the middle of yet another world-ending terror. And this time around, nobody can be trusted. Not that tough-as-nails cop who probably knows a lot more than she's letting on. Not the adorkable new employee who might be something far less innocent than she appears.

Slow burn, but I've really come to enjoy it!
Revisado: 09-12-22
At over 94 hours in, and if you're here and reading this, then you've had plenty of time to decide whether you're interested in this series by this point.
Either the growing swords and sorcery narrative and its characters have you hooked, or maybe you just like long books and have a driving job. Me? I belong to all of the above.
It's past 6 AM and I am writing a review debating whether or not I should go to bed or stay up and get into the next book. This is probably bad for my health.

Historia
Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury's to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne'er-do-wells by night. Now there's a new item on the list. He needs an heir - which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar's daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she'll do.

An excellent book!
Revisado: 07-26-22
First time reading, or rather, listening to, a romance novel. It was sensual, heartwarming, dramatic, sexy but not overly done, and actually quite funny at times.
The change in narrative between Emma and Ash, or Duke as he is sometimes called was an interesting change of pace from a lot of books I've read/listened.
I liked the supporting cast of characters who were all interesting in their own way, and the sub-plot with the Monster of Mayfair (not sure I got that right) was a good change of pace every now and again.

One bubble. Four castles. Fifteen days. Capture each one, and the stairwell is unlocked. Here's the thing. It's never easy. Carl and his team can't go it alone. Not this time. Historia
Kaiju: Battlefield Surgeon. Survival horror. One of the most brutal, most terrifying full-immersion games ever made. A place where fantasy characters such as elves and dwarves clash with technology, where giant monsters roam the hills, entrusted with protecting the gates of heaven from the demons who would tear it all down. A game where one plays the last of the battlefield surgeons: a healer tasked with keeping the behemoths alive at all costs. But on this server, they don't care about the game. They've come because of the game's most unique feature: full pain.

Not for the Faint of Heart
Revisado: 05-22-22
So much to say about this audio book.
I will not shy away from all the hard topics. This story tells them all. Yes there are giant monster fights, Kaiju battles. It's about a virtual reality video game that delves into a world meshed with magic, gods, Artificial intelligence, demons, and monsters. Science fiction, total fantasy, a bit of steam punk, mythical creatures, and of course, at its heart, a somewhat bleak and futuristic reality.
The main character, Duke, is initially a struggling artist, with a troubled family relationship, who seemingly gets an opportunity to change things around for the better. He has a wife, a daughter, and bills to pay. He is a believable character in all of this. He has strengths, he has flaws. He makes a lot of mistakes but he feels like a real person who lives in this reality who is dragged into an untenable situation.
Banksy and Clara are great supporting characters who really help drive the story along with Duke. Meanwhile Anatoli and Jenk make for a truly interesting mix of differing antagonists to the story.
Kaiju: Battlefield Surgeon was extremely brutal in places. That's probably an understatement, it can be downright traumatic, triggering even! I will warn you again, this is not for those who are faint of heart!
There is a full blown torture scene at one point, it deals with both physical and mental trauma, war, government control, potential conspiracy, human trafficking, the dangers of religious fanaticism, death, murder, delusions, apathy, liars, pain, sociopathic and psychopathic serial killers, and developing mental disorders. Probably a few things I forgot to mention too.
Don't get me wrong, it's got more than a few uplifting and heartfelt moments too. People come to know and love each other. People become friends and sometimes enemies. It experiences sad, weird, confusing moments. There's plenty of action and excitement throughout. Lots of drama too. There's questions of spiritual growth and taking a hard look at religion in general. It takes the main character who is, at his core, a regular guy and completely transforms him into someone different through the story.
It's a story about the nature of souls, regardless of realms and of human emotions. The book talks about the problems and the potential uses of cyber technology as it advances. We aren't too far off from seeing some of that hit our world so this could be a sneak peek at our own future.
It does not end on a happy note. But I don't think it's wrong to have done so.
