Historia
Sometimes raw, sometimes humorous, but always honest, this is a true account of a woman’s struggle to overcome a paralyzing fear, get back into the sport she loves, and the friendships she develops along the way. After a lifetime of riding and owning horses and performing both in the show ring and on the trail, a difficult fall off her own horse on her own property leads Pam to realize age is catching up with her and she has become afraid to get back in the saddle.

Excellent!
Revisado: 03-19-24
Audio versions of memoirs are best when performed by the author. There’s no mistaking Ms. Reband’s disappointments or her determination to continue to work through them to get back the joy riding has always brought her. I laughed out loud at a couple of places, and felt a lump in my throat at others.
Bravo, Ms. Reband!

Abominable
Revisado: 07-05-23
Coulter’s romances have, before this book, followed a standard recipe. The small variations in those books kept the outcomes never in doubt which I like.
In Midsummer Magic, however, the expected conclusion was reached by a torturous trail of treachery, brutishness and stupidity that had me hoping for an end to the book.
I may never listen to another new Coulter novel again. What a disappointment!

Historia
The dapper, mustache-twirling little Belgian with the egg-shaped head and curious mannerisms has solved some of the most puzzling crimes of the century - and, in his own humble opinion, is "probably the greatest detective in the world". In this complete collection of more than 50 stories, ranging from short tales to novellas, Poirot faces violent murders, poisonings, kidnappings, and thefts - all solved with his characteristic panache. Only Agatha Christie could have devised cases worthy of Hercule Poirot's skill and "little gray cells".

I recognized David Suchet’ voice from the BBC productions but the other performers were also excellent!

Historia
At first, only a few things are known about the celestial object that astronomers dub Rama. It is huge, weighing more than ten trillion tons. And it is hurtling through the solar system at inconceivable speed. Then a space probe confirms the unthinkable: Rama is no natural object. It is, incredibly, an interstellar spacecraft. Space explorers and planet-bound scientists alike prepare for mankind's first encounter with alien intelligence.

A Trip Flashback
Revisado: 02-19-19
I read this book when I was a teenager, re-reading parts of it several times. Not until now, however, have I voyaged the full novel in forty years!
I liked everything about this recording, including the introduction by a science fiction writer. The narrator’ performance was flawless: he read with enough inflection to allow easy identification of each character but without turning any of them into caricatures.
Finally I have to credit Clarke himself with a superb story. The twists and turns were like a great experience on an amusement park ride - they weren’t overwhelming but jarring enough to make for an experience both fun and awe-inspiring. The captain’ thoughts while exiting Rama at the story’ climax mirrored my own. That was my favorite part of the novel when I was a teen and it still is!

Historia
In this groundbreaking classic, investigative journalist Lynne McTaggart reveals a radical new paradigm - that the human mind and body are not separate from their environment but a packet of pulsating power constantly interacting with this vast energy sea, and that consciousness may be central in shaping our world. The Field is a highly listenable scientific detective story presenting a stunning picture of an interconnected universe and a new scientific theory that makes sense of supernatural phenomena.

So much, so much....
Revisado: 03-12-18
This book covers an area of science that is little understood, even by those whose lives have been dedicated to it. The history of noetics is presented by the author as well as it has ever been, yet her performance (if it can be called that) is lacking. I understand that the subject is not the best choice for an audiobook and dramatizing science can be seen as belittling. Nevertheless, Ms. McTaggart’ vocal style did not hold my attention and it was difficult to make it through the entire work.
That said, the book is overflowing with detailed explanations of research that has been done by many people throughout the world. I recommend buying the hard copy for references made throughout the audiobook.
