As a parent, this blew me away! Superb book!
Revisado: 02-11-23
I had my first child in 1980, so he grew up learning technology right alongside me, watching the birth of video games and their phenomenal popularity. I remember buying his first Nintendo… I was fascinated as I watched him play these games, and I watched him play the fantasy games of role-playing when I could afford to allow him to logon to AOL and play for 30 minutes… If I had the extra $30-$40 it was going to cost for that time online. It was dial up and we lived in a very rural area of the United States.
Everything in this book was so nostalgic and entertaining… So many laugh out loud moments, especially with phrases from the pop culture of that era in the 80s and 90s. I was purely entertained!
If you grew up in the 80s 90s and beyond, and were part of the gaming life/entertainment and watched movies, listened to music, watch TV, … and if you chose to wear clothes… I don’t know how anyone from that era, could read this book or listen to the audiobook and not be thoroughly entertained and taken back in time.
The performance was stellar! Not a single annoyance, or complaint in any way. It was perfect.
I would encourage anyone who had children during the video game evolution, or if you grew up in that era, you should not hesitate to grab this book! I haven’t been this entertained by an audiobook in a very, very long time.

Hey Audible, book description sucks. Needs LGTBQ label
Revisado: 12-18-22
This book had potential… I can’t even finish it, I’m hours into it, invested in the story and then they throw in the LGTBQ angle. Whatever a person chooses is perfectly fine, live your life however you choose, it’s none of my business… However, this book needs to be labeled as explicit, gay sex. Had I known it was going to have this angle I would’ve chosen a different book. That’s just not something I’m interested in, and I think audible should make it clear in the book details, that this book has a big dose of gay relationships and sex. I’m no prude, I’ve lived several decades and experienced many aspects of life, I would just appreciate the opportunity to choose the subject matter that interests me, especially when I’m paying for it!
Lots of virtue signaling and white men are bad.
The narration was superb.

It’s got EVERYTHING! Was it Him or the idea of Him…
Revisado: 01-16-22
Robinne Lee… WOW! First let me say thank you, emphatically, thank you for writing this story! I am blown away that this is your first novel, I don’t even know where to begin on this review because my emotions are shredded. This book moved me and that’s rare, it’s the high we are always looking for when it comes to reading… I am totally invested in your characters!
This book is gritty, and taboo and raw. When I read the information that described what this book was about, I doubted that the author would take us through the real angst, emotional trauma, and the fallout left behind in relationships like this… Robinne Lee doesn’t hold back here, she gives us EVERYTHING! The good, the bad and the ugly, it’s all there.
The narration which is done by the author, is perfection. I have become extremely critical of narrators because I have been spoiled by narrators like Robinne. I do hope if there is a sequel, please God, let there be a sequel, I hope Robinne narrates again! Please don’t ruin the character by giving her a different voice, please.
I finished this book at 3 AM, and my heart still hurts hours later. I love it when that happens! I want more. I want to know what happens to this couple. This cannot be the end. Please give us more!
I wanted to judge Solène in the beginning, the age gap is pretty wide, I wanted to not like her, I wanted to stick to my “societal norms”, I wanted to think of her as selfish, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t help but find myself rooting for her, and wanting her to be able to have Hayes as her love. This book will test your ability to look at the whole picture and not just the situation.
If you want a book that gives you Romance, Love, Hate, Privilege, Decadence, Sex, Art and Secrets, look no further, spend that credit. 5 stars all the way!

Grabbed me at Chapter 1. A great prequel! 5 ⭐️
Revisado: 12-20-18
I’m a huge fan of Tom Abrahams so I had no doubt this would be a great read.
The book just takes off at a fast pace and doesn’t slow down! An experiment gone horribly wrong turns this Marine into a killing machine... there is plenty of gore involved, but my heart goes out for “Trevor Brett” aka “The White Ghost “.
The military doesn’t want their experiment that went terribly wrong exposed, so the hunt for the “monster” they created begins. Will they find him, or does he hunt them? I’m not saying more!
I haven’t read the series that this prequel is based on, but it’s on my list now!
Bronson Pinchot does a great narration!
If you’re a fan of Tom Abrahams and/or Nicholas Sandsbury Smith, you won’t be disappointed!
Five stars all the way on this book!

Historia
The Alt Apocalypse is the newest ground-breaking series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliffhangers). This series, which can be heard in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse. In Affliction, Abrahams tells the story of a mysterious team of researchers, four college friends, an ex-con, a lonely fry cook, and a secretive group of prepared civilians as they each battle to survive in southern California after an outbreak of a new, deadly disease....

5 Stars! The Alt Series Is Fantastic!
Revisado: 12-18-18
This Alt Apocalypse series by Tom Abrahams gives you four different, alternative scenarios involving the main core characters in each book.
Mr. Abrahams is one of my favorite apocalyptic authors! He gives his character’s so much personality and diversity. The details he provides with his writing style, has allowed me to connect with all of the people in his stories. I have laughed, cried, cringed, and been on the edge of my seat! I become so invested in the characters, I can’t stop listening. When I get ANY book written by Tom Abrahams I must resign myself to the fact that it’s going to be a binge-fest.
What interested me the most about the Alt series was the idea that these characters were going through four different apocalypses! Do they all survive? And if so, what kind of Hell will they be subjected to?! I’m not going to spoil any of the stories with specific details… Please, trust me, don’t miss out on this series of the alt apocalypse. If you love apocalyptic, dystopian, Syfy, SHTF books, you won’t be disappointed!
Kevin Pierce: in my opinion Kevin Pierce is one of the best narrators! He breaths life into each character… I can’t say enough good things about his talents. I would simply use all the best adjectives if I had the time, to describe how amazing Mr. Pierce is. The way he performs (yes, he performs when he reads!), is so smooth and fluid. He’s phenomenal.
Just read the reviews on all of Tom’s other books, he’s a fabulous author... anyone who says otherwise, they have no idea what they’re talking about! Trust the good reviews, you won’t be disappointed.
Now I’m on to my next Tom Abrahams books!

Loved “Year One”! Completely Blown Away With Book 2!
Revisado: 12-09-18
To Nora Roberts: You have hit a grand slam with this series! Phenomenal storyline. These characters are so full of life and personality! I am SO looking forward to the next book! Thank you for writing such an incredible story!
To the reader: You cannot skip book one, book two would make little sense without Year One.
If you enjoy Post-apocalyptic, Dystopian, Survival... you get all three with this series, but, you also get Fantasy! Nora Robert’s writing style and the characters she introduces in this series, will make you laugh, cringe, cheer and cry.
I’m so impressed with the Dystopian/Fantasy twist and eagerly waited (not patiently), for Of Blood and Bone... totally binged on it. I cancelled plans, just so I could listen to the continuing saga.
Julia Whelan: Oh My God! Such an amazing narrator. I actually search for books that are narrated by her. I absolutely love her voice, how she is able to breathe life into whatever character she is portraying, and her ability to make you feel the story through her voice. Bravo, Julia!
I am not very good at writing reviews. I intentionally do not give a lot of detail, hardly any actually, about the story… I feel like if you read the description of the book before you choose it, it usually speaks for itself. I would encourage you to grab this series if you like fantasy, survival, post apocalyptic, or dystopian novels… You get all of that and much much more with this storyline.
Five stars for me all the way!

Fantastic So Far!
Revisado: 11-09-18
I really enjoyed this first book in the series! It’s very apparent that Mr Akart did a lot of research to write this book, in fact, he sites his sources at the end of book one.
The characters are very easy to like. The story introduces them briefly and jumps right into the impending disaster of Yellowstone erupting.
You get a nice cliffhanger, hence, I’ll be grabbing book two right after this review.
I won’t go into detail, I’d rather you let the ratings and good reviews before mine be the determining factor... but seriously, I don’t see how this book could disappoint!
Chris Abernathy does a good job with voices and emotion. This is the first narration of his that I’ve listened to.
Excellent start to a great series, no doubt!
Remember, it’s not IF Yellowstone will erupt, it’s WHEN. This will happen.

Absolutely Fascinating! Fantastic End to a great series!
Revisado: 05-27-18
This series captivated me from the first chapter! Devon C. Ford, thank you, for your imagination and talent at keeping all the books in this series moving at a swift pace. You filled your characters with individuality and personalities that threaded a connection between reader and book. I already miss them!
This series was literally brought to life by the perfectly executed performance of R. C. Bray! As one of my favorite narrators, I fell in love with the starring characters in these books, each one grabbing onto my heart through the emotions you always manage to convey! Bravo!!!
For the readers/listeners, this story never slows down. I binge listened, eagerly moving through every chapter from start to finish. I cried with joy and sorrow for the last half hour... it was very difficult to let go and say goodbye to the characters that I felt, truly felt, a connection to.
What an appropriate and very fulfilling End to an amazing story. Five stars all the way! (I’m still crying as I write this review).

Whoa! I’d give 10 stars if possible!
Revisado: 03-06-18
First, the performance of Jacob Morgan (I love everything about him) and Elena Wolfe, is beyond stellar! Jacob has such a smooth, sexy, engaging, voice that I can just get totally lost in. His ability to bring you right into the story is phenomenal! Elena Wolfe has the same ability. She reads with so much emotion, and adds depth to the characters she portrays. I love the pairing of these two narrators! When the scenes start to unfold, both narrators build the excitement, they put you right there with the characters and then BOOM!, they climax (pun intended).
The story is great on all levels. Sierra Simone gently pulls you into this taboo subject in the first chapter. She doesn’t shy away from the “wrongness” of the storyline and at times, I found myself having to pick my jaw up off the floor because of how naughty this Priest is! This book is off the charts steamy. If you don’t like the “C you next Tuesday” word, don’t get this book. If you like a good romance with a heavy dose of erotica, absolutely get this book!
This is a love story with content that has teeth... it takes your hand and says “get comfortable, grab a snack and your favorite beverage because you’re going to binge-read”. I fell in love with this Priest right along with Poppy. I am not going to give too many details because I don’t want to spoil a single surprise, I hope you’ll just trust me that this is worth a credit, Id actually spend 2 credits on this book!
If there are any low star ratings on this story, those readers just don’t know a good, erotic, love story (IMO). So grab this book and settle in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. This one stays in my library.

An Amazing Trilogy! A fantastic story.
Revisado: 01-16-18
This trilogy by Justin Cronin, has to be one of my top favorites! The story is compelling and captivating from start to finish! I was sad to have it end and wanted more... there are a few questions left unanswered, hopefully this means there might be a continuation of characters introduced in the final chapters.
Amy is the lead character, but there are huge supporting characters that weave together a fantastical journey that spans over 1000 years!
The trials and tribulations of these people are very detailed, emotionally connecting the reader to their lives and in my case, gave me a bond with each person. I felt as if I was right beside them, as an unnoticed interloper ... with a front row seat, watching lives unfold. I was completely captivated throughout.
The narration is nothing less than superb! Just take my word for it... I could go on and on, but that would be redundant. I can’t find a single dislike or even a petty remark to say about the narration.
I listen to at least a couple unabridged books each week, my work allows me this luxury. This trilogy is long and very involved, so, it took me a couple of weeks to finish all three. I only do reviews on the books that I feel strongly about. When a story and the narration grab onto me, forcing me to binge listen, evoke emotions of compassion, anger, sorrow, hope, love and leave me wanting more... that’s a book that gets a review.
I listen to a few different categories, from romance, erotica, sci-fi and post-apocalyptic. This trilogy has all of these aspects, without the erotica.
I hope my review is helpful in encouraging you to choose these three books! I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
