From Turmoil to Peace: Josh's Healing Journey
Revisado: 08-01-24
Josh is struggling with himself as he faces his father's imminent death. While his father has found peace, Josh is tormented by unresolved emotions and the pain of abandonment. The story unfolds as Josh opens his heart to better understand the relationship that has haunted him for years. Throughout his journey, Josh's ability to look at people with compassion reveals that life is not black and white, nor is it simply gray. Instead, it is a tapestry woven of different perspectives, emotions, memories, and trauma.
Overall, this audiobook is a powerful exploration of the human condition, offering profound insights into the nature of love, forgiveness, and the journey to inner peace. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates deeply emotional and introspective stories. It is particularly resonant for those grappling with their own familial relationships and seeking a path to reconciliation.

Historia
Xenocide is the third installment of the Ender series. On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequeninos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought. But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus which kills all humans it infects, but which the pequeninos require in order to transform into adults.

Why Broken Chinese Accents?
Revisado: 02-18-13
First, I must say this is a beautiful story, however Card's view of chinese culture is unrefined. His view seems filtered through the lens of old kung fu movies and western culture.
I believe Card's view could be overlooked, but the accents placed on the chinese characters is horrible. If Chinese are speaking chinese to eachother, why did they sound like horrible imitations speaking english. Great book if you are not offended.

Historia
There are tales of Middle-earth from times long before The Lord of the Rings. The story told in this book is set in the great country that lay beyond the Grey Havens in the West: lands where Treebeard once walked, but which were drowned in the great cataclysm that ended the First Age of the World.

A Tragic account to the likes of Shakespeare
Revisado: 08-06-12
You will find yourselves calling the characters idiots and asking yourself why.... but isn't that what a tragedy is about. Good story telling makes you care and curse the tragic protagonist .

Historia
When F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby in the early 1920s, the American Dream was already on the skids. Originally based on the idea that the pursuit of happiness involves not only material success but moral and spiritual growth, the dream had by Fitzgerald's time become increasingly focused on money and pleasure - a phenomenon the high-living writer was only too familiar with.

Why is this the great American novel?
Revisado: 08-06-12
Decided to check it out because of its status in American literature. However, it was a bit underwhelming and anti-climatic. No excitement... There was tension but no one I cared about... If you like gossip and rich folks acting like gossipy rich folks then check it out.
