Historia
Army Criminal Investigation Agents Scott Brodie and Maggie Taylor have been separated for five months following their last assignment, a dangerous mission in Venezuela to locate and detain an infamous Army deserter. Now, in Berlin, they are reunited and tasked with investigating the murder of one of their own: CID Special Agent Harry Vance of the 5th MP Battalion, an accomplished counterterrorism agent who had been stationed in western Germany, and whose body was discovered in a city park in the heart of Berlin’s Arab refugee community.

Great Book, But Now Will Have to Wait 2 More Years
Revisado: 10-30-23
Anyone (Forrest) who criticizes the "untimely" release of this audiobook should pay closer attention. DeMille has been writing this novel for over 2 years. And it's a beauty. Thank you Mr. DeMille.

Historia
The world is in the grip of an epidemic of sleeplessness and one man will risk everything to find out what caused it. In his signature style of fast-paced action, outrageous violence, and graphically described scenes, we are tossed into a dramatic turbulence unlike anything you've ever read or heard.

I'm "All In" for Huston Novels...
Revisado: 07-29-14
...but I'm now all out as this was his last on my "unread list." After having stumbled across the first of the Joe Pitt series, I became a fan of his dark style, "noir-ish" as a previous reviewer aptly labeled it. Huston is very skilled and has a keen way with words, particularly when it comes to details which may, at first glance, seem to be trivial but lend flavor and spice to the overall scenario he is developing. Unlike a few other reviewers, I appreciated the two-narrator design of this audiobook, as I think it went a long way toward demarcating the two points of view presented. Not even the skillful Scott Brick could have pulled that off as well.

Historia
When El Matador opened in 1958, Bennett Cerf called it "the most attractive room in America". Part saloon, part salon, Barnaby Conrad's nightclub was nestled in the heart of San Francisco's cabaret and nightlife district. On any given night, one might find Noel Coward, Marilyn Monroe, Truman Capote, Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, or Tyrone Power in the club or might hear Duke Ellington, Art Tatum, Eva Gabor, George Shearing, or André Previn take over the piano.

Esoterically Fun and Funny
Revisado: 12-05-12
There's something intriguing about name-dropping tomes and the telling of relatively secret stories when it involves the famous, past and present. And, while the narration by Mr. Conrad is not up to the standards of readers such as Scott Brick, it's certainly good enough. A lot of flavor would have been missed had the author of such an autobiographical novel not read it to us. Thanks for a really fun read, Mr. Conrad.

Prequel to a Great Series
Revisado: 10-01-12
When will other authors and publishers realize what Brett Battles and Nelson DeMille, as well as others, have already...? Scott Brick is the best in the business of narration. I intentionally search for books that he narrates for my next purchase. That's how I found the Jonathan Quinn series. So glad I did.
