Historia
Raised as a fourth-generation farmer, when Will Harris inherited White Oak Pastures he was a full-time commodity cowboy who played hard and fast with every tool the system offered–chemicals, antibiotics, steroids, and more. His ancestors had built a highly profitable, conventionally run machine, but over time he found himself disgusted with the excess, cruelty, and smalltown devastation this system entailed. So he bet the farm on forging a different way of doing things. One that works with nature not against it, and bridges the quickly widening delta between consumers and their food.

Could have been said in one chapter
Revisado: 08-19-24
Admirable, hard working, intelligent and, self-adoring guy to be sure. What he has to say could have been said in one chapter however. A good philosophy once he gets past his preachiness but very little practical information on how to carry out a regenerative ag program.

Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

Historia
Scholars Craig Blomberg and Mariam Kovalishyn use the historical, theological, and literary elements of James to guide their interpretation of this often-overlooked early Christian text in James: Audio Lectures. Their lectures examine the biblical text in its original environment, with an emphasis on the three key themes of (1.) trials and temptation, (2.) wisdom and speech, particularly with a view to obedience, and (3.) wealth and poverty.

Hit and Miss
Revisado: 09-08-23
The Book of James is such an important book in the Bible. This commentary’s narration is split between a woman who is vibrant and engaging to listen to and learn from and a gentleman that is very dry and monotone and just flat hard to listen to. The gentleman is an accomplished and renowned Bible scholar while much wisdom so it is a shame that his narration is not more engaging.

Historia
At the End of the Santa Fe Trail is a book by Sister Blandina Segale about her fascinating experiences as a young Catholic nun in the southwestern United States from 1872 to 1892. At a time when lawlessness and brutality were the norm, Sister Blandina displayed courage, tough-mindedness, and a deep religious faith in service to the less fortunate. Sister Blandina's well-written account tells of working with immigrants, Hispanics, and Native Americans who were losing their land to swindlers.

Historia
Reflections on the Revolution in France is a slashing attack on the French Revolution by one of Britain’s most famous statesmen. Liberty and social order, Burke argues, are maintained by the traditional rights and duties embedded in custom and law. And when these traditions are overthrown in revolutions, society is threatened with chaos, bloodshed and despotism.

Historia
The legacy of General Nathan Bedford Forrest is deeply divisive. Best known for being accused of war crimes at the Battle of Fort Pillow and for his role as first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan - an organization he later denounced - Forrest has often been studied as a military figure, but never before studied as a fascinating individual who wrestled with the complex issues of his violent times. Bust Hell Wide Open is a comprehensive portrait of Nathan Bedford Forrest as a man: his achievements, failings, reflections, and regrets.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.
