This was a great book- beautiful writing, complex story, fantastic character development. Really great!
I recommend it for anyone liking the combination of mystery and fantastic writing.

The first half repeats itself from different points of view and it’s Not effective

I am not sure why Slaughter chose to repeat the story at the beginning a number of times but it’s quite ineffective. The different lenses are barely different - if she’s trying to be Lawrence Durrell she fails miserably.
Otherwise the story is another reasonably good Trent story.

I normally love books he reads but either he read REALLy fast or they sped up his normal relaxed cadence. I had to listen at .75x.
Story was not possible for me to follow at their 1x.

This reader CANNOT do Parker. Those of us who love the English language, and who love rhythm that authors create, look forward to someone reading who understands that musical magic. This guy is TERRIBLE. Everywhere there's a period (which is very frequent with Parker!) he reads as a comma or a question mark. It's EXCRUTIATING. AWFUL. PLEASE do not let this guy read Parker again, and I really want my money back.

If you're thinking of getting this because you liked the humor and action of "Moo", also by Smiley, DON'T. This is THE WORST book I"ve ever listened to, and I only tolerated it because my run route is so long. I have well over 3 hours in and nothing has happened but alot of talk between couples, pre coitus, post coitus, about HOllywood, the Iraq war, and life. What the heck was Smiley thinking?
