Pronunciation!!!
Revisado: 10-06-22
First of all, it’s Voldemort. VoldemorT. With a T on the end!! Why would you make the T silent?? It adds some sting to the end of the name. Intentionally pronouncing Tom’s chosen title as Lord VoldeMORE over and over again is infuriating almost to the point of avoiding the audiobook altogether.
There are a couple of words that are mispronounced that I can’t remember at the moment, but one that comes to mind is the spell, “finíte incantatem”. He pronounces it as finite, as in, “there is a finite supply of oil below the surface of the earth”. It’s finíte. Fin-EE-tay!
Other than that, he did a great job on the accents and cadence of the various characters speech patterns. I especially liked the basilisk’s murderous tone. I actually got goosebumps after hearing it. And Collin Creevy’s adoring and annoying voice made me remember times when my nefew followed me around a couple years ago.

I had to force myself through it at first
Revisado: 09-11-18
This book isn’t a journal kept by our hero “Kilroy”. I won’t ruin the plot, but it’s told from multiple perspectives.
The jokes from the spec ops teams threw me at first. It seemed unrealistic. But then I met a group of unassuming (slightly nerdy) infantry grunts who had read this series and they confirmed (to some degree) that operators behave like this. Getting past that hurdle was the hardest part for me. When I was in the military I was more like Kilroy. No time for nonsense. I suppose letting go of the familiar tone of voice was the hardest part.
That being said, the operators MORE than redeem themselves with their commitment to cause.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is for the abrupt change in storytelling.

great advice found within
Revisado: 04-26-17
personal experience: I became lucid by accident and spent the night flying around with a couple Dragon Ball Z characters. it was absolutely intense and everyone thought I was crazy when I told them about it. So naturally I took their advice and told myself that it was just a vivid dream, nothing more. then about a week ago I heard on NPR that lucid dreaming was real. The next night I was casting spells at Hogwarts with an overly gay Dumbledoor. It was just as badass as my first lucid dream.
however, I'm a natural born skeptic:
The text suggests Astral projection and telethapy are possible without providing examples or evidence. I'd love to believe otherwise, but if it were real, someone would have found it by now and be using the skill for practical purposes. There'd be an industry built around the ability, don't you think? I'll try it out in my own dreams, but I don't have any real expectations of success.
if someone wants to telepathicly communicate w/ me, I'd be more than thrilled to answer the call.

Historia
The first book of Day by Day Armageddon took us deep into the mind of a military officer and survivor as he made a New Year's resolution to start keeping a journal. The man kept his resolution and brought to us the fall of humanity, day by day. We see the man transition from the life that you and I live to the prospect of fighting for his very survival against the overwhelming hordes of the dead. We see him bleed, we see him make mistakes, we witness him evolve.

6 out of 5 stars.
Revisado: 10-17-16
If 5 stars means, "nothing went wrong and I enjoyed the experience", then 6 stars means that I'm recommending this book to my friends.
Great read.
