Historia
A Secret Service operative and dedicated survivalist, Special Agent Del Roosevelt had a plan for every world-ending scenario and regularly trained for them all. He was even ready for a date with the hottest woman in his office next Friday. At least he hoped so. But all that training, all those rations, all that prepping? Useless for the apocalypse that actually played out. Del wakes up half-buried in a giant trash pile, missing his thumbs. And, um, covered in red fur. He's stuck in a world of fuzzy monsters, senseless violence, and cult-like crusaders.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Revisado: 03-16-25
What a horrible disappointment. I couldn't even make it halfway. It was just dumb, dumb, dumb. Less entertaining than a child's cartoon. What happened, Eric?

so juvenile
Revisado: 07-25-24
I have read children's fairy tales with more substance. I couldn't finish it. the only reason I gave it to Stars is because it's not the worst thing I ever read.

Historia
The first three books in this action-packed, wildly original fantasy series by New York Times bestselling author Jasmine Walt. This kick-ass urban fantasy series has been compared to books by Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Karen Marie Moning, and more. You're sure to enjoy it if you like spunky heroines, kick-ass fight scenes, wild new worlds, and sizzling, slow-building romance.

Narrator ruins the story
Revisado: 04-12-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrator, definitely!!!!! The book is a little juvenile, but might have been a decently entertaining story if I could have listened to it.
How could the performance have been better?
I couldn't finish it. I tried. I really tried. If I had to listen to one more clearly enunciated consonant (dug-guh, went-tuh, f---k-kuh, brown-nuh) I would have screamed. Vowels were almost as bad (me-ah, try-yah). Also, was so fast I had to, for the first time ever, reduce the speed of the reading. This reader will prevent me from trying any more books that she narrates.
Do you think The Baine Chronicles Series, Books 1-3 needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Don't know. I'll let you know after I check it out of the library to finish it.

I really wanted to like this book, but couldn't stand the reader more than about 20 minutes. I will try to check it out at the library and read it the old-fashioned way. Why are there so many over-readers??? Calm down, folks.

This is one of the best. I thought the narration was wonderful and suited the plot and the characters very well. I was disappointed to reach the end and look forward to more by this author.
