Great collection

Legitimate scary to disturbing stories, would have liked more variety in narrators but it was still a great performance.

Historia
After years of city life, Orla and Shaw Bennett are ready for the quiet of New York's Adirondack mountains — or at least, they think they are. Settling into the perfect farmhouse with their two children, they are both charmed and unsettled by the expanse of their land, the privacy of their individual bedrooms, and the isolation of life a mile from any neighbor.

Zero Take Off
Revisado: 10-15-21
I started this book because of a review suggesting it was a horror novel with a twist ending that would have me thinking about it. I was instead met with a book that tries to be a commentary on feminism and nature wrapped up in a supernatural plot that never takes us anywhere but to a level of interest that floats just above boredom. Instead of a surreal or even fantastic world of possibility as the name suggests, Wonderland becomes the cheap apartments with the word manor injected into its moniker in hopes you'll ignore the wild dogs and dangerous vagrants that roam the grounds.
Interesting in that you don't mind it but likely only because you don't have anything better to listen to, I would steer clear of this unless you're in the mood to connect barely visibly dots that reveals a freshman college thesis on the role of women in nature spirituality.

Biased but Gokd
Revisado: 12-10-18
Go i to this knowing the author is a friend of Jack's so it will highlight alot if accomplishments and obstacles he overcame. That doesnt mean it's not informative! It is an easy and substantial book on Ma. Salacious doesn't mean informative.
I recommend this to anyone interested in businesses or MA.

This book brings to life Harry Truman in a thorough but entertaining way that is less tedious than one might expect considering the breadth of information conveyed. For reference I would suggest a hard copy as a companion.

A must read for parents
Revisado: 07-07-15
This is essential reading for parents that's perfectly blends a layman's explanation of today's brain research and techniques to communicate to you child. As a counselor I always recommend this book especially for single parents whose frustration levels are like none other.

Millions of people visit xkcd.com each week to read Randall Munroe's iconic webcomic. His stick-figure drawings about science, technology, language, and love have a large and passionate following. Fans of xkcd ask Munroe a lot of strange questions. What if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90 percent of the speed of light? How fast can you hit a speed bump while driving and live? If there were a robot apocalypse, how long would humanity last?

Hope You got an A in Math and Physics...
Revisado: 09-13-14
First of all it's read by Wil Wheaton, awesome! If you're not familiar with who that is then you're probably expecting a completely different book than anything written by Munroe.
As a fan of XKCD I'm all to comfortable with playing along as if I understood the highly mathematical joke I just read. After you hear the whiz of jokes flying over your head enough you kind of go with it. Now imagine a few hours of that and you'll kind of get what this books is like listening to it. While Munroe does an excellent and accurate job (I think it's accurate, if not at least well described) of explaining the "what if" scenarios, the mathematical explanations are lengthy and unless you're accustomed to graduate level physics lectures stands a very good chance of inducing a "zone out" until the scenario returns to a narrative laymen description.
Don't let this deter you from giving it a shot! You'll get the idea of every one of the "what if" scenarios I promise you.

Kissinger is still sharp as ever
Revisado: 09-13-14
Kissinger delivers a powerful message of not only where our social and political landscape has been, but also why it was there. He describes a Europe obsessed with Christiandom and its evolution through hundreds of years to the semi-fractured union of nations we see today. His approach of the Muslim world of governance is done so without fear and from an academic standpoint that also resounds with his generation of experience.
Like anything written by Kissinger don't expect a light listen. Although not as deep a read as some of his other work, this book is certainly not your laymans guide to the CNN's Headlines.

Historia
In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Daniel Benjamin and Steven Simon began working on this book shortly after leaving the National Security Council, where, as director and senior director for counterterrorism, they watched the rise of al-Qaeda and helped coordinate America’s fight against Usama bin Laden and his organization. They warned in articles and interviews about the appearance of a new breed of terrorists who were determined to kill on the grand scale.

Stays on Track
Revisado: 10-14-11
The first few chapters of this book seem overwhelming detailed concerning the events of WTC Bombing and September 11th. This a fine inclusion to the overall message of the book it seems to drag on a bit, but when the book does pick up steam it does so quite well. The author takes the reader into the world of counter terror policies of the Clinton and Bush administrations then brings us back around to the issue of religiously motivated terror. The tag team reading bit wasn't distracting as it is in other books that try to accomplish that effect. Thought provoking for sure.
