Historia
Living the life most women only dream about, I was madly in love with my soulmate - Asher Valentine - amazing husband, loving father, and rock's favorite kick-ass frontman. A man who loved me every day, in every way, since we first met as teens. We were blessed with a beautiful daughter who was the light of our life. My all-female rock band was tearing up the charts. Then tragedy struck, and I lost it all. Now all I have is a stack of journals, an antique key, and a big black void where my memories should be. Used to be.

Please read this review!!
Revisado: 03-02-23
I know there are some strong reviews on this book, both good and bad.
To be honest, I had never heard of Carian Cole until a few weeks ago when “Ashes and Embers” came up on my recommended list. I decided to use my free credit to download the first book in this series.
I absolutely loved the first book, “Storm”! As I was listening to that book I decided to get the rest of the “Ashes and Embers” series.
Book 2, “Vandal” was not my favorite, but I am so glad I continued this series. Each book was very unique and yet they all tied together beautifully.
As I went back through the book reviews on “Asher”, I was surprised to see how the reviews were so extreme. Maybe, I am reading the room wrong, no pun intended, but it seems like some expectations were too high and the book fell short.
HOWEVER… going into this series without any prior knowledge of Carian Cole, I did not have any set expectations and fairly neutral.
I think “Asher” was absolutely wonderful!
Is it a long shot of a love story… heck yeah! Are there really sad and depressing moments… absolutely! Aren’t these moments of long shots, tragedy, and hopelessly romantic times the ingredients that define true love and romance??

A social experiment (a scary but exciting concept): marry a total stranger, live together for six months, and journal everything. Feelings. Fights. All of it. After six months, we each get $50,000 in exchange for our journals, whether we stay married or not. But the goal is to commit to the experience and see if the relationship experts could put together the perfect matches. I have never been lucky in love. This was my chance to find my soulmate. I couldn't wait to meet the man the experts felt was perfect for me.

This was, by far, the best book yet! I could not stop listening! I was drawn into the emotions of Talon and Asia and needed to know what would happen between them.

I can’t get enough!
Revisado: 07-27-22
This is another fantastic series by Thea Harrison! She is now one of my favorite authors!! Each book has a unique story yet are seamlessly linked within each series.
I have listened to almost all of Thea’s books and they leave me craving more! I am quickly running out of her books ☺️
Also, I normally do not say too much about the narrators, but I must give a HUGE shout out to Sophie Eastlake! Sophie is an amazing narrator! She brings Thea’s books to life! Having the gift to bring a book to life through narrative is a rare gift and Sophie has that gift in spades!

Historia
Like the "Dark Continent" of Africa, the dark island of Madagascar holds many chilling secrets. One of them is a long-thought extinct species of dinosaurs living at the country's core. A massive earthquake rocks the mountain range within the Andringitra National Park. The splitting Earth reveals a network of tunnels, hidden away for millennia. Responding to the series of violent upheavals, a pack of hypersensitive predators flee their subterranean home; frenzied and hungry, they head for the surface.

WOW!
Revisado: 09-03-20
I began this book highly skeptical. However, I am pleasantly surprised!!! Matt James did a fantastic job. In my opinion, he did not have to overreach for the plot of this book. I absolutely loved the plausible reality of this book.
As for Michael Lesley... all I have to say is wow! Michael Lesley is wonderfully gifted with his numerous and unique impressions of each character! The different moods that each character goes through Michael interprets perfectly. I even found myself chuckling at the sarcasm throughout this book.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy realistic fiction!!

Historia
I am Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman. My only “superpowers” are that I turn into a 35 pound coyote and fix Volkswagens. But I have friends in odd places and a pack of werewolves at my back. It looks like I'm going to need them. Centuries ago, the fae dwelt in Underhill - until she locked her doors against them. They left behind their great castles and troves of magical artifacts. They abandoned their prisoners and their pets. Without the fae to mind them, those creatures who remained behind roamed freely through Underhill wreaking havoc. Now one of those prisoners has escaped.

Another very worthy Mercy Thompson book!
Revisado: 05-01-20
I have been hooked on this series since Patricia Briggs began writing this series! I do have to admit that the first 10 books I physically read, and I had my own idea of how each character sounded. So When I first listened to book 11 “Storm Cursed” I was not sure that I wanted to continue listening to this series. However, due to my schedule, I decided to give it another try with this book “Smoke Bitten” and I loved it! I guess I got used to the narrator. Yes, I do have the physical copies of this entire book series for my own personal library. Overall, Patricia Briggs knocked another one out of the park! I am 100% addicted to the Mercy Thompson series, and I always will be! I highly recommend this book, but I do want to make it very clear that if you do decide to get this series, PLEASE, start with BOOK 1!!!

MUCH BETTER then I EVER expected!!!
Revisado: 11-09-19
Again, I am not one to normally write reviews, unless I am truly impressed or extremely disappointed. For this book, “Overlord: A Sam Aston Investigation” Book 2, I am overly impressed!!! While I did enjoy the first book “Primordial,” the first book in the Sam Aston Investigation series, “Overlord” was 100 times better, leaving me wanting more investigations from Sam Aston!!! David Wood and Alan Baxter captured my attention and imagination quickly and held it to the very end!
As always, the narrator Jeffrey Kafer, was phenomenal. He always delivers the story exceptionally well! Jeffrey Kafer is one of my favorite narrators. The way he narrates helps hold you attention and always makes you feel the intensity, fear, malice, and relief of every character as well as the ambiance of every place the characters go in the book. I highly recommend this book, even though “Primordial” was just okay, “Overlord” blew me away! “Overlord” is a must read/listen to book!!!!

Revisado: 11-01-19
I hardly write any reviews, but on this book, I am. I just wanted to try something different, and I was pleasantly surprised.
This book was well written. The book moves fast, and the narrator did a fantastic job! I was skeptical about this book when I downloaded it with a free credit but I gave it a shot. I truly enjoyed this book! I am not sure if this is a book that I would buy to keep in my huge library of actual hard copies of my books, but it is worth listening to.
I do recommend this book for anyone to try. The plot was not what I was expecting, which made made the book intriguing. If I had the time, I would have listened to this book in one whole day! I enjoyed it that much!! However, I have an extremely busy schedule. Therefore, I used every bit of my downtime to listen to this book. I thoroughly enjoyed “The Hole” and I highly recommend this book.

WHAT A BRILLIANT SURPRISE!
Revisado: 08-26-19
I want to begin with the fact that even when I love the book, I normally do NOT write a full review! However, I could not stay silent about this!! I LOVE books like this!!
When I was much younger and the book “Meg” first came to the store shelves, I became addicted to this type of book. I honestly gave up on finding any other books that were like “Meg”, the “Loch” by Steve Alten, or like “Below” and “What Lurks Beneath” by Bryan Lockwood.
These books, while fiction, make you think that it actually COULD BE possible for these creatures to exist! These are the best type, in my opinion, and sadly, not every author can make the reader believe it the potential “what if’s”.
To my extreme surprise, Michael Cole and the “Thresher” lives up to Steve Alten, Ryan Lockwood, as well as Greg Beck with “Fathomless”, Paul E. Cooley with “The Black” series! Michael Cole was brilliant writing this book and Matt Godfrey remains one of my favorite narrators! Godfrey even pronounces the scientific terminology correctly! This book is worth the read and in listening!
