Historia
Fifteen-year-old Lina is a Lithuanian girl living an ordinary life - until Soviet officers invade her home and tear her family apart. Separated from her father and forced onto a crowded train, Lina, her mother, and her young brother make their way to a Siberian work camp, where they are forced to fight for their lives. Lina finds solace in her art, documenting these events by drawing. Risking everything, she embeds clues in her drawings of their location and secretly passes them along, hoping her drawings will make their way to her father's prison camp.

Captivating story
Revisado: 04-08-24
Amazing story telling from the author and performer. I couldn’t stop listening. This is historical fiction, but not a lot is known about the history that the author depicts. She tells it in a way that makes you fall in love with her characters, weep with their struggles, and want to root for their survival. I felt like a fly on the wall of history… highly recommend!

Historia
When Florence Finch died at the age of 101, few of her Ithaca, NY, neighbors knew that this unassuming Filipina native was a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, whose courage and sacrifice were unsurpassed in the Pacific War against Japan. Long accustomed to keeping her secrets close in service of the Allies, she waited 50 years to reveal the story of those dramatic and harrowing days to her own children.

Incredible story
Revisado: 03-16-24
This is an incredible story about a woman’s contribution, trials, and achievements to the war in the Philippines during World War II. Her life is truly an inspiration and this book is a great reminder of overcoming adversity and how little we appreciate the comforts we have today.

I loved everything about it
Revisado: 01-08-24
Listened to this with my 6-year-old. More intense than I had thought it would be, but she loved everything about it. Requested it every time she had the opportunity to listen. Highly recommend, although maybe not for small children.

Historia
Out of control of his actions, Billy Milligan was a man tormented by twenty-four distinct personalities battling for supremacy over his body—a battle that culminated when he awoke in jail, arrested for the kidnap and rape of three women. In a landmark trial, Billy was acquitted of his crimes by reason of insanity caused by multiple personality—the first such court decision in history—bringing to public light the most remarkable and harrowing case of multiple personality ever recorded.

Great story, outstanding performance!
Revisado: 07-10-23
Story was a bit hard to follow, but overall great! Would recommend. Definitely provides some insight into the mind of someone with multiple personalities and had me hooked throughout. I was intrigued by all that Billy had gone through and what the system continued to put him through as he learned to live with his mental illness. I couldn’t stop listening!

Riveting story! Had me hooked through the entire reading. The performance was great too! I really felt like I was there alongside them instead of being read to. I would highly recommend!

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

A definite must read/listen
Revisado: 08-07-18
Trevor Noah does a great job of drawing you into his story and allowing you to not only hear his story, but feel the emotion as well. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun read. It’s very entertaining, but also gives you a look into apartheid and the impact that it had on the people of South Africa.
