Historia
Serial killers: Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, and Jeffrey Dahmer are often the first names that spring to mind. Many people assume serial killers are primarily an American phenomenon that came about in the latter part of the 20th century. But such assumptions are far from the truth. Serial killers have been around for a very long time and can be found in every corner of the globe - and they're not just limited to the male gender either. Some of these predators have been caught and brought to justice whereas others have never been found, let alone identified.

So dull
Revisado: 06-10-23
I don’t know how stories of serial killers could be, but the narration & writing are painfully dull & unpleasant to listen to. No thank you.

NARRATION RUINED IT FOR ME
Revisado: 05-06-22
I tried getting into the book, but the narration was so harsh sounding, robotic and mind-numbing I couldn’t stand listening past chapter 1. Just awful. Wish the author would’ve read it himself.

CAN’T TRUST OR FINISH…RETURNING IT.
Revisado: 03-14-22
I can’t trust this book. The narrator mispronounces so many words — including inflammation (!) (cysteine, psoriasis, co-op, etc….) — and the information is all provided as fact with no proof. No “research in JAMA shows that…” And the “facts” contradict each other. “Yoga is the best exercise to decrease inflammation because of the deep breathing. Poses such as ‘Child’s Pose.’” So…cardio doesn’t involve deep breathing? “Don’t eat oranges in the morning on an empty stomach it can be irritating and cause inflammation…Don’t eat apples with dinner, they can irritate your stomach and cause inflammation.” Mmmk. I was on a walk so couldn’t write/remember more, but I do remember cringing a lot.

When Rosie and Penn and their four boys welcome the newest member of their family, no one is surprised it's another baby boy. At least their large, loving, chaotic family knows what to expect. But Claude is not like his brothers. One day he puts on a dress and refuses to take it off. He wants to bring a purse to kindergarten. He wants hair long enough to sit on. When he grows up, Claude says, he wants to be a girl.

Narrator didn’t fit the story — but listen anyway
Revisado: 09-25-20
I read the book, and while I prefer nonfiction, loved this story. So I was disappointed the narrator’s voice sounded like an uptight, unemotional person rather than the open, loving, warm (& disorganized?) mom, wife & physician in the story. I tried, but couldn’t get into it. However I urge others to try it, a and if you agree, then read the book, it’s fantastic.

Historia
"God, if you're real, make yourself real to me." Each of us spends our lives on a journey toward God. Yet often our most deeply felt longings - for meaning, for love, for significance - end up leading us away from instead of toward our Creator and the people he made us to be. Finding Your Way Back to God shows you how to understand and listen to your longings in a whole new way.

Misleading
Revisado: 08-19-15
In the beginning the book appears nondenominational and open to all faiths but by chapter 7 or 8 the authors start saying that for this to "work" one must believe in Jesus. I refuse to accept (a) god (who) won't talk to the billions of non-Christians in the world.

NARRATION IS AWFUL
Revisado: 07-11-14
Sorry, the narration is so awful I didn't get past the first part of Chapter One, so can't review the book. But the reading -- the narration was so bad, I ended up returning the book. It was overemotional, cheesy, cloying…ugh. I usually preview a book, but didn't this time -- what a mistake. Previewing is highly recommended for this book!

Just listening to it made me happy
Revisado: 09-12-12
Not only does the book contain simple but very effective ways to improve your life, the author/narrator makes it a joy to listen to. Feeling blue? Put in your headphones and listen for a bit and you'll be cheered right up. It hasn't taken long and I have been putting his suggestions into action and have made some truly positive and exciting changes in my life.
