Historia
Raised in Natchez, Mississippi, Penn Cage learned all he knows from his father, Dr. Tom Cage. But now Tom has been accused of murdering the Black nurse with whom he worked in the 1960s and Penn is determined to exonerate him. The quest for answers leads down a trail of corruption and brutality that places Penn’s family squarely in the crosshairs of the Double Eagles, a vicious offshoot of the KKK controlled by some of the state’s most powerful men. Penn ultimately must acknowledge that secrets from his father’s past have put the Cage family in great jeopardy.

Beyond brilliant!!!!
Revisado: 12-13-24
This was one of the most compelling trilogies, books, stories I have ever listened to. Greg Iles is new to my listening pleasure, but can he ever write. I could hardly stop listening to this story just when I thought maybe it was going to end there was a twist that was unbelievable. And it kept going like that throughout the whole 92 hours. I can recommend this so highly this man is an amazing writer. His vocabulary and descriptions made you feel like you were in the midst of the story. I’ll be reading a lot more from this man. I would suggest you do the same.

Historia
In September 1969, a fumbling, cranky old church deacon known as Sportcoat shuffles into the courtyard of the Cause Houses housing project in south Brooklyn, pulls a .38 from his pocket, and, in front of everybody, shoots the project's drug dealer at point-blank range. The reasons for this desperate burst of violence and the consequences that spring from it lie at the heart of Deacon King Kong, James McBride's funny, moving novel and his first since his National Book Award-winning The Good Lord Bird.

Great story. Action packed. Lots of military, jargon and events that could certainly be real. Moved along so well with my very favorite narrator Scott brick. If you like action, you’ll like this book.

Revisado: 02-26-21
I love novels about the Civil War. The books i usually read are 20 hours or more but when I saw this short one from audible I thought I’ll give it a try. I was not disappointed.
It’s a very realistic story done very realistically by the narrators and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I highly recommend it.

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

An amazing read never forgotten ‼️
Revisado: 09-10-19
I hardly know what to say. This was one of the most amazing books I have ever read listen to or any other thing in my entire life. I am a prolific reader. I read all kinds of books wonderful books through audio lately. My Audible subscription has given me years and hours upon hours of the most fabulous reading. Both for my body mind and soul.
This book however surpasses almost anything I have ever read in my life. It is filled with adventure ,hope ,sorrow ,sadness but most of all it shows the The indomitable human spirit. How the human spirit is willing to continue on no matter what... through any obstacle that is place before it. I don’t believe there is another story of a human being that has persevered more than Shackleton‘s crew.
Please read this. Your life will be heightened and you will be so blessed by the reader and the story. The narrator was absolutely perfect for this book. I look forward to reading more from him.

So great ...I have to read it again‼️‼️
Revisado: 06-22-19
This book had a slower start for me, but I would not have had the amazing experience I had if I hadn’t pressed on.
It was actually an historical fiction that made me cry, laugh and drew me into the pages and lives of fascinating people. The history of the era of President Roosevelt in Shreveport,LA and the visuals, dialects, and accents...amazingly portrayed by the narrator was compelling and entertaining.
Her portrayal of all these different accents made me check again to see if there were multiple readers‼️
The only thing that would made more of an impact (which was so high I couldn’t bear for it to end) would be to read it all over again. Which I’m going to do.
A splendid read for men and women. Young and old. Audible...I just think it would be a dismal prospect of a day without your books. Thank you. 📚❤️
