Simply OK
Revisado: 12-18-24
It wasn’t the worst, but not the best I’ve read. It centered more around the main character trying to continue punishing herself and others for things from the past. Almost a martyr complex. I finished it, but only because once I start a book, I finish it regardless. I’m sure others liked it. This just wasn’t for me.

Historia

Her son, Nick, is taking a belated honeymoon with his bride, Blair, while her daughter, Dana, will purge every reminder of the guy who dumped her. Again. Julie feels practically giddy for one-on-one holiday time with Heath, the (much) younger man she’s secretly dating. But her plans go from cozy to chaotic when Nick and Dana plead for Christmas at the family cabin in memory of their late father, Julie’s ex.

Lots of drama!
Revisado: 11-17-24
It was ok if you enjoy lots of family drama! I don’t mind a character or maybe two being dramatic, but not every single one. Wasn’t the worst I’ve read though, it just got irritating at times with a few of the characters.

Good not great….
Revisado: 10-29-24
Not the best narrator- his voice for the children was like nails on chalkboard, voice for the female wasn’t the best either, which affected my review of the book as a whole. Wish I would have read vs listened. Sparks has definitely written better, but this one was good, just not great for me. Again, probably had more to do with the narrator.

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-14-24
This book was sub-par to her normal books. Normally they are full of suspense and I can’t quit listening. Not this one. No suspense until the very end. Too much time spent on the teenagers who really had very little, if anything, to do with the plot. I was totally disappointed.

Historia
Everyone refers to the St. Cecelia as “the Saint.” If you grew up coming here, you were “a Saint.” If you came from the wrong side of the river, you were “an Ain’t.” Traci Eddings was one of those outsiders whose family wasn’t rich enough or connected enough to vacation here. But she could work here. One fateful summer she did, and married the boss’s son. Now, she’s the widowed owner of the hotel, determined to see it return to its glory days, even as staff shortages and financial troubles threaten to ruin it. Plus, her greedy and unscrupulous brother-in-law wants to make sure she fails.
