A coming of age piece that could be easily made into a made for cable. Will become even more relevant when we get more of them. Looking ahead to the movie - could be even more thrilling if the second hurricane came in and something - like a mystery came in with a dead body - like someone tried to cover up a murder with the hurricane.... Love all of the stories Hugh writes not in his series - he has a lot of dedication to The craft.

The world as we know it is ending. Evolution has reversed itself, affecting every living creature on earth. Science cannot stop the world from running backward, as woman after woman gives birth to infants that appear to be primitive species of humans. Thirty-two-year-old Cedar Hawk Songmaker, adopted daughter of a pair of big-hearted, open-minded Minneapolis liberals, is as disturbed and uncertain as the rest of America around her. But for Cedar, this change is profound and deeply personal. She is four months pregnant.

Another lovely novel. This one was a little unexpected, but really...wow! You really know how to write (and read) novels that continue to reverberate in my mind. It's so nice to immerse myself in your worlds for a while. Each story is like one of those log rides...you go up and up ...you can hear the chain and you know something is coming and then - wow- you are in a situation that you never saw coming. Thank you for writing me such lovely worlds to jump into for a while. Such lovely gifts, each and every one of them. Write on....

Revisado: 07-14-23
I love this French Quarter story, really captures the paranormal there. Love the storyline and the characters are marvelous. I would love just a bit more differentiation between character voices, or an additional narrator. There was a whole lot of characters to keep track of. Maybe delete a few characters, after all, the heart of it is the story which you've done so well. You have an amazing voice. People would never ever, in a million years assume you are from somewhere else. Last one, studio equipment can help you a little. Do a sound check and record. Equipment is easy to use. Use off hours, or have them call you when they have nothing booked. POTENTIAL LISTENERS - listen to the sample, it sounds great. I just am picky because I used to be in high end studio sound production.

Historia
An unexpected death on a lonely road outside of Utah’s Bears Ears National Park raises questions for Navajo Tribal Police officers Jim Chee and Bernadette Manuelito. Why would a seasoned outdoorsman and well-known paleontologist freeze to death within walking distance of his car? A second death brings more turmoil. Who is the unidentified man killed during a home invasion where nothing seems to have been taken? Why was he murdered? An illicit business, a fossilized jaw bone, hints of witchcraft, and a mysterious disappearance during a blizzard add to the peril.

The best so far!
Revisado: 06-13-23
Such a heartfelt story of family, love, life and death. And lots of intrigue! I've been out there along those roads in the dark and the snow and no GPS, or signal. I can picture myself in those mountains in desperate need of help.... Why? Because that's how she writes it. Another amazing story of the people who, after covid, are still putting life back together after such loss. I wish that the Hillerman writing award would go to teaching people of the Navajo Nation how to write their stories and put together an incentive for writing short stories - a book of Navajo stories that belong to the new writers of the tribe. Just a thought I think your dad would perhaps like. Thank you, Anne, for another book to bring together stories we can all warm our hands on. This would make a much better story than Dark Wind - find a producer to bring it to Netflix.
You are amazing, your dad would be so proud of you 🌺 Mahalo.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.
