Decent Story, Could Do Without the Soft Porn

I was enjoying the story until it took a particularly bad turn in book 2. However, it appears to have been written by a particularly horney teen aged boy. EVERYTHING is dripping on prepubescent sexual fantasy and spent most of my time rolling my eyes.

Loved This Series!!

This is by far my favorite post apocalypse story. It moves along and doesn't get bogged down with nonsense. I like the tempo and periods of relative calm. The main character (Adrian) is believable and relatable. I wish I knew which book was the next in my series!?!?

Not So Good

I really like this genre of book, but this one was pretty slow. The author seems self congratulatory about the idea that "zombies" can be explained. Nearly every "zombie" book I gave read has a zombie explanation and frankly his zombies are as far fetched as they come! The story is obvious and mundane and he makes the mistake of every encounter being a "we BARELY lived through that!!". The Slow Burn Series is much better.

Not a big fan of the narration. The voices were pretty good but the style where you hit every last word gets annoying when you start to notice it.

I did like the dog narration but even that doesn't get better throughout the story...I guess cause it's a dog? Not a bad deal for 35 hours of content and the story does have some cool parts.

I struggled weather to give this box set a 2 or 3 star review and decided on the former for a few reasons.

First, the two beginning books tell the same story one from the "good guys" and the second book from the "bad guys". Since you know how it ends it's a bit frustrating.

Secondly, I thought the character development was very poor. No one in the book seems real in the least. I never connected with anyone and the villains are all of the comic book variety.

Finally, it's just not a great read. there seems to be countless paragraphs covering the most tedious and mundane points then a quick summation of some event that might have been exciting!

It had some decent sections but all in all it was one of my least favorite purchases.

Pretty Good...

Story moves along. Narration is decent, however you have to learn how to pronounce the name of the gear. I cringed everytime he said "moe-lay" vest!
