An impotent and unsatisfying ending…

Beginnings and endings matter… the beginning of this series was well thought out and well written. But in the end it fizzeled out and fell flat on its face just before the finish line. It feels like the author had a stroke or brain worms or something because he forgot how to write in any meaningful way. It’s like a bad fanfic ending.
It’s also repetitive, and by that I mean it repeats itself, and by that I mean it copies itself, and by that I mean it says the same thing over and over and over and over…. This is a 5 hour story stretched out over 14 hours which describes one scene in slightly different ways a thousand times. No real purpose to anything that happens. No satisfying wrap up of an almost twenty book series… this would be the worst ending of a book series I have read but thankfully for mr Allen the spacers series exists….
I have been thoroughly disappointed and my day is ruined. Now how do I delete a whole series from my audible library?

one of the most unenjoyable SW books I've read.

This book is very entertaining. absolutely true. but it is only so in a way a disaster B movie is very entertaining. it is cheap, disconnected and lacks a soul... first of all I hope you haven't made any lasting connections with main characters of prior High Republic books because if you have you might as well prepare yourself to have most of them ripped from your heart and existence without purpose and without ceremony. this book reads like a walking dead season where no character has ever heard of plot armor and though "hope" is a main theme of this book it nonetheless takes every opportunity to completely and utterly empty itself of any hope whatsoever... this is a train wreck of a story and it seems Claudia simply forgot what star wars actually was and just decided to write a depressing and agonizing disaster story where the characters you spent many books getting to know are simply thrown away with a flittering of the fingers... to say the least I was thoroughly disappointed and my day is ruined. I want a refund.

Best in the saga!

like two books in one! While one may be daunted by the fact this book is almost double the length of the others it is actually for the best as there is so much backstory covered. I enjoyed it immensely. the story was great and the narrorator was wonderful as always. the characters all came to life and I ended the saga fulfilled and satisfied. absolutely a must read.

a worthy redo

Timothy writes like a man on fire... this was an excellent book and a worthy canon version of his legends thrawn trilogy.
the only thing that keeps me from giving it a 100 is that I dont personally appreciate the telling of stories for more than one main character. but that is just me! still worth the read as i have read it 10 times already. ha!

Im spoiled

this is a great series from an amazing author... however i am spoiled rotten by his work... this means that I now can only fond the fault in it whereas if I were not familiar i would think it the third testament of the Bible. ha!
my only issue with this book is that it is two books mixed together... would rather have read this as two books than skip around every chapter to a totally different timeline...
other than that it was splendid... simply salubrious.
