Historia
I haven't been home for Christmas in eight years. That's about to change. This year, I'm traveling to my small hometown to convince my producer to make me the permanent host of Good Day Denver. The plan: Charm viewers by sharing my favorite family Christmas traditions and, in turn, get the likes, clicks, and shares to land the job. Not the plan: Run into my ex-boyfriend. In my house. For Christmas. Here he is, a guest of my mother, who apparently had more trouble letting go of Max Weber than I did.

Favorite Christmas book!
Revisado: 12-04-23
I don’t think this could be better than Cross Country Christmas but boy was I wrong!!! I LOVED everything about this book - the romance, the family dynamic, small town life and Christmas. I love a good Christmas book that delves deeper than just focusing on the magic of Christmas. That’s what this one did. I laughed and I actually shed some tears. I connected so deeply with the grief aspect. The narrators were excellent. Highly recommend!!!

Historia
Brady Collins is juggling full-time fatherhood with the booming auto repair business he runs out of his barn. His ex-wife's sudden death has shaken him, but the devastating news that follows leaves him reeling: Sam is not his biological son. Brady's attorney tips him off that one major life change would virtually assure him of winning guardianship of baby Sam at the final hearing: the stability of an impending marriage. And his friend Hope is willing to step in as the loving and devoted fiancée. Local radio celebrity Hope Daniels has been driven by a solitary goal her entire life, and she's finally been offered her dream job—in Atlanta. Unfortunately, her arrangement with Brady requires her presence in Copper Creek, and she is faced with missing the chance of a lifetime or standing in the way of a dear friend’s dreams.

Not my favorite from Denise Hunter
Revisado: 05-17-18
Denise Hunter is my absolute favorite author so I was very disappointed when this book didn't live up to my high expectations. I felt the plot was slow and predictable with not much conflict to keep my attention. It was also very unrealistic. I didn't feel any "spark" between Brady and Hope, actually Hope really annoyed me most of this book. Brady, however, is one of my favorite "book boyfriends". The narrator was not very good at distinguishing different characters and was too enthusiastic, especially in scenes where the tone didn't fit. Really hope the heft book in the series is better, as I did enjoy the first book immensely.

A crumbling lighthouse is not part of the inheritance Army doctor Ben Garrison expects to claim when he journeys to Hope Harbor. She may not be a Hope Harbor native, but the small Oregon seaside town has become home - and she's determined to save the Pelican Point landmark.

Fluffy read
Revisado: 04-25-18
Irene Hannon is one of my favorite Christian fiction authors so it breaks my heart that I did not enjoy this book. It was just too fluffy for me with very little faith content. There wasn't enough of a plot to really keep me interested. Everything just seemed to fall right into place way too quickly. Wish Irene Hannon would stick with her suspense novels because those are her best books. Not sure if there will be more books in the Hope Harbor series but I won't read them if there is. Seems like each book in this series gets fluffier and fluffier. Very disappointed.

Loved everything about this book!!!!
Revisado: 04-16-18
It has been a long time since I enjoyed a book as much as I did this one. Beautiful story of love and forgiveness. This was the first book I read by this author and I will definitely read more! Excellent writing and beautiful storytelling that really took me back to this historical time period. I did not realize this was the last book in a series and I did not read the other books in the series first. I was not lost though. This could definitely be read as a stand alone novel.
The narrator was excellent! She captured the true time period of the book and gave each character a unique voice. Really added to the overall enjoyment of this book and listening experience.
Cannot recommend this enough. MUST READ!!!!

Sweet story that will make you crave cinnamon rolls!
Revisado: 03-25-18
I loved this book and enjoyed it more than the first in this series. I really related to Caden in so many ways. Loved how this book picked up so well from the first and the characters were so well developed. However, I am really craving a cinnamon roll now! The narrator was fantastic. Did a great job with acting out all of the characters and their accents. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Broke and desperate, she's hoping to find safety and sanctuary on Prince Edward Island, where she reluctantly agrees to help decorate a renovated bed-and-breakfast before it opens for prime tourist season. Seth Sloane didn't move 3,000 miles to work on his uncle's B and B so he could babysit a woman with a taste for expensive antiques and a bewildering habit of jumping every time he brushes past her.

Enjoyable book, strange narration
Revisado: 03-09-18
This was my first Liz Johnson book and I really enjoyed it. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series and more books by her. I loved how there was more to the story than just romance and the faith message was beautifully written in. Enjoyed all the characters and look forward to getting to know them more in the other books in the series.
The narration was strange. Seems like this book may have been recorded by two different narrators and the editing was poorly done. There were several instances where the narrator would change for just a few seconds and then switch back to Amy. Amy was an okay narrator but would have liked more distinction when narrating the different voices. Sometimes was difficult to tell which character was speaking.

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.

Disappointing
Revisado: 03-03-18
Would you try another book from Sally Thorne and/or Katie Schorr?
Not from Sally but I like Katie as a narrator and would listen to her books again.
What could Sally Thorne have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Would have liked more focus on the hating aspect of their relationship. Thought this would have been a hate to love relationship but Lucy and Josh seemed to be in love from the beginning. Would also like more dialogue in the first part of the book. Too much narration and way to much horny, sex talk for my liking.
What about Katie Schorr’s performance did you like?
Perfect voice for Lucy. Exactly how I would picture her voice to be.
Was The Hating Game worth the listening time?
No
Any additional comments?
Very heavy sex talk and description. Be warned. Also lots of foul language.

Beautiful Story
Revisado: 02-26-18
I loved the message of this book. Beautiful story showing how to live out God’s plan on His timetable. The narrator was good but didn’t fit the image of 31 year old Kate. Would have preferred a younger, more energetic voice for this book.
