Good but soo much filler.
Revisado: 03-26-25
Good story but a lot of filler apart from the main story. Maybe the filler will become something later in the season but it makes this book drag at times rather than sticking to the main story line. Still an awesome series. Cannot wait for the next one.

The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

Another Awesome Book
Revisado: 02-14-25
Another awesome book on the DDC universe. Jeff Hays has once again knocked it out the park! It’s interesting how Matt has ended some story arcs and added so many new story arcs that are just beginning. With the character development mostly completed it’s going to get very interesting as the series continues. Now Matt…get to writing the next book.

Historia
For four millennia, the sixteen planets of the Imperium sector have served as a bastion of peace against the Chaosic Regions. The Imperium's legacy can be attributed to the formidable military power of the Stratus, the enforcers of the Supreme and the Senate. However, as is often the case with empires, it is the smallest cracks that threaten to shatter their foundations.

Story starts off slow but eventually picks up
Revisado: 11-12-24
Have started this audio book several times but could not seem to get into it. Finally decided to give it a chance and the story did end up gaining traction. Now that I have listened to it I realize the amount of world building the author has to do is why the story drags in the beginning. Once the main world building is completed the main story arc takes off. Great series so far with some interesting twist and turns.

A bit slower than the first book.
Revisado: 07-29-24
This book was a bit slower than the first book. Lots of character and world building. The hour long stats chapters could have been a PDF attached to the audio book. Interesting to see where the author takes this story. Jeff Hays was amazing. The female narrator didn’t seem to have a range of voices for each character but she was decent enough. Now the year wait for the next one.

Outstanding Ending
Revisado: 02-21-24
The ending was outstanding. One thing I like is when the author is ok with killing off top characters of the series. Not allowing plot armor to keep the main characters safe allows for a more realistic storyline. Cannot wait to see what comes next from the Hopper-Chaney duo!

The book is good for the foundation of a possible great story plot. Characters are interesting and the cards can allow the characters to change as they level up. Looking forward to the next book to see where the author takes it.
