Historia
In 2016, Rob Delaney’s one-year-old son, Henry, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The family had moved from Los Angeles to London with their two young boys when Rob’s wife was pregnant with Henry, their third. The move was an adventure that would bind them even more tightly together as they navigated the novelty of London, the culture clashes, and the funhouse experience of Rob’s fame—thanks to his role as co-creator and co-star of the hit series Catastrophe. Henry’s illness was a cataclysm that changed everything about their lives.

I mean what monster would rate a story about a dead son and grieving father lower than 5 stars.

The story is absolutely beautiful. The way Delaney opens his life up to the reader and lets them see into his world and meet his son Henry is unbelievable. I don’t have kids, and this book moved me to tears. You feel for this man who’s job is to make people laugh struggle to navigate the hardest thing a man can go through.
Delaneys narration is powerful. He’s an accomplished voice actor and screen actor so that’s to be expected. There are no funny voices or alternate characters in this book. Just him telling the reader a story about a lost child. I don’t think anyone else could have voiced the audio book. There are subtle moments in which you hear robs voice raise and can almost hear him on the verge of tears and it’s powerful. I felt like I was on a phone call with this man as he told me a…THE story of his son.
It’s a wonderful book and an amazing story we’ll preformed by the author. My only issue with it , is that I’ll never get to hear it for the first time again.

Historia
From "one of the funniest writers in America" comes a collection of stories culled from the front lines of the millennial culture wars. Rife with failing rock bands, student loans, and participation trophies,
Spoiled Brats is about a generation of narcissists - and the well-meaning boomers who made them that way.

3 ½ stars. Some clever ideas.
