Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

this was perhaps the most important and terrifying book I've ever read/listened to. Anyone and everyone with an interest in the continuation of the human species should read/listen to it.

Historia
During the Civil War his movements from battlefield to battlefield were followed in the North and in the South nearly as closely as those of generals, though he was not in the military. After the war, his swift response to Ku Klux Klan violence sparked passage of a landmark civil rights law, though he was not a politician. When he died newspapers reported his death from coast to coast, yet he's unknown today. He was the man who delivered the most valuable ingredient in United States soldiers' fighting spirit during those terrible war years—letters between the front lines and the home front.

Great history of a Postal Inspector
Revisado: 07-01-24
This is excellently researched, written, and performed history of a Postal Service Special Agent (now called Postal Inspector) kept the Army's mail going during the civil war and used his position to fight for civil rights during reformation. His close friendships with Grant and Lincoln were amazing!
