Well crafted and acted

Great plot and excellent acting. Also, I they have cracked the code on episodic format- no intros or credits at beginning and end of each ep- instead it plays seamlessly end to end- which is fantastic. If you enjoyed this check out the latest audible original called “Possession” co-written by the author of Phreaks. I only heard about Phreaks in an interview with the author at end of Possession. I hope this high level of production and seamless delivery is the model for all Audible original episodic work. Well done. I binge-listened to this which is my highest praise. Enjoy.

The character development is spot on- and the humor of the interactions can be laugh out loud funny. Am sorry to have caught up to the author and am now waiting for more- but this one and the fantastic Gerard Doyle narrating does not disappoint.

Everyone loves an underdog story

Another well-crafted chapter in the series. Herron does a great job of moving the plot and characters forward- without resorting to rehashing previous tropes. I realize I need to slow down my consumption of the series as I will hate to have none left! Thoroughly enjoyable and narrator Gerard Doyle is amazing as always.

Comfort Food at its Finest

Nothing better than settling in with these characters and the bureaucratic politics as the story continues. Jackson Lamb is a legendary character. All of the scenes with him interacting with his staff and misguided politicians that try to control him are hilarious. And as always Gerard Doyle the narrator is amazing. I am constantly forgetting this is just one person as his accents and inflections are all so unique. A great partnership of excellent material with a great narrator.

Enjoyed the story but am also a huge fan of narrator Ray Porter. He has also narrated the excellent Joe Ledger series (by Jonathan Mayberry) which is similar in concept with Ledger leading a military team- so Mr. Porter has that genre down. Am looking forward to the rest of this trilogy!
