But he certainly does not expect Jake McCloud to answer. It's the late spring of 2020 and Jake's wife, Ursula DeGournsey, is the frontrunner in the upcoming Presidential election. There must be a mistake, Link thinks. How do Mallory and Jake know each other?

Unbelievable
Revisado: 10-02-20
This story was so unbelievable I can’t get over it why didn’t they get married right away. The whole story line is ridiculous. I would never read one of her books again

Historia
Troubled by the feeling that she belongs nowhere after working in East Africa for 15 years, Frankie Rowley has come home - home to the small New Hampshire town of Pomeroy and the farmhouse where her family has always summered. On her first night back, a house up the road burns to the ground. Is it an accident, or arson? Over the weeks that follow, as Frankie comes to recognize her father’s slow failing and her mother’s desperation, another house burns, and then another, always the homes of summer people.

keeps you listening!
Revisado: 08-03-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Arsonist to be better than the print version?
I don't know, I didn't read it, I listened.
What did you like best about this story?
It was interesting on many levels, with several different stories going on.
The ending was interesting and not quite what I thought would happen.
Have you listened to any of Sue Miller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
That is not possible, but it kept me lidtening.

Historia
In 1918, after four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia to take a job as the lighthouse keeper on remote Janus Rock. To this isolated island, where the supply boat comes only four times a year and shore leaves are granted every other year at best, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel. Three years later, after two miscarriages and one stillbirth, the grieving Isabel is tending the grave of her newly lost infant when she hears a baby’s cries on the wind. A boat has washed up on shore carrying a dead man and a living baby.

bad sound
Revisado: 01-08-13
What did you like best about The Light Between Oceans? What did you like least?
The story was great, leads to much discussion.
However, the audio was extremely difficult to understand. The main character Tom, had a very heavy accent and swallowed his words. I had to guess quite often what was being said and it took from the pleasure of the story.
What didn’t you like about Noah Taylor’s performance?
His accent was heavy and a lot of his words were unintelligible.
I would never again knowingly purchase an audio that he narrated.
Any additional comments?
Noah Taylor should never be allowed to do an audible again.
