Historia
In this book, Corey Taylor undertakes something never before attempted in the history of rock superstardom: he takes you with him as he journeys undercover through various ghostbusting groups who do their best to gather information and evidence about the existence of spirits. Taylor also gives you a behind-the-scenes tour of his crazy life and the many beyond-the-grave events he's encountered. (You'll be shocked how often Slipknot has been invaded by the supernatural).

Thought provoking
Revisado: 10-14-24
I’m a HUGE fan of Corey Taylor the musician. In my mind, it tracks that a man who writes music would also be able to author decent books. He does not disappoint.

Historia
Sacrifices—that’s what females make to live in Serendee—an urban utopia. We give up our family, our choices, our bodies. Some people call it a cult, but they don’t understand. We give it our all, and in return, Serendee gives back by providing a safe, idyllic home. Starting with The Order. I don’t expect the perfect mate, but when I’m matched with Rex—the rebellious, handsome, and destructive heir of Serendee—I’m stunned. Until I find out why I’ve been chosen.

The only thing that would make this audiobook better, is if there was a male voice narrating for the MMC, instead of a woman narrating an octave lower than her natural tone. Otherwise, it’s worth the listen.

Historia
The night my sister died, a piece of me died with her. So I made a vow to enroll at Spine Ridge University just like her, find the person responsible… and make them pay. Until I meet three sick boys of the Skull & Serpent Society: Felix, Dylan, Alistair. Rude, heartless, vicious guys who are obsessed with making me regret I ever stepped foot on campus. They make me a deal: My body in exchange for a glimpse at their violence.

Excellent voice actors
Revisado: 06-28-24
The voice actors are GREAT, the storyline is adequate. My only real complaint is a lack of creativity with the surprised aroused thoughts, multiple characters constantly using “fuck me” as a statement of surprise gets old very fast. Otherwise, it held my attention and I will likely read the next book in the series.

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Scary good
Revisado: 04-14-24
So well done that it made me lose my appetite at one point. A whole new take on a classic novel. MUCH more terrifying in this format, as it leaves only the visuals to the listener, the effects, music, & voice actors all make it a chilling performance

Historia
An unforgettable true story of resilience, family, and chasing your dreams against all odds. In this poignant and inspiring memoir, Tani Hanes recounts the remarkable life of her grandmother, Mitsuko Ishikawa, who grew up in early 20th century Japan dreaming of independence and education. Mitsuko's steadfast determination carries her through an arranged marriage, raising children during wartime, and carving out an accomplished career as a midwife, nurse and ikebana master - despite a society that expected her to be only a dutiful wife and mother. The legend of the Moonless Festival states if you take to the sea on a moonless night, return to shore before first light, that which you desire most, will arrive during the rising sun. Rin, her life hasn't always been easy, but that's never stopped her from working hard. She strives to become a doctor to help those less fortunate, a goal that stems from past tragedies. I HATED this one!!
Revisado: 12-15-23
I love this story, all 3 books that I’ve listened to this far. She is a great author, tells an amazing story, makes it so realistic that I learned to love all the characters, even when Nila irritated the hell out of me. Which is why I hate this book so much. I cried like a baby that had just been stung by a bee, curled up on my bed, sobbing as if I had lost my life partner. Damn her for making this too realistic, for being too good at writing a hard story.

Historia
The CIA is looking for walking contradictions. Recruiters seek people who can keep a secret, yet pull classified information out of others; who love their country, but are willing to leave it behind to head into dangerous places; who live double lives, but can be trusted with some of the nation's most sensitive tasks. Michele Rigby Assad was one of those people. As a CIA agent, Michele soon found that working undercover was an all-encompassing job. The threats were real. The mission was a perilous one. Trained as a counterterrorism expert, Michele spent over a decade in the agency.

It’s definitely NOT Life Undercover
Revisado: 04-22-23
I read a LOT of espionage books… more than a “normal” woman should. After reading Left of Boom, Hunting the Jackal, & Life Undercover. I was excited for another gritty, dirty, story about a female operative. Maybe the author really is that clean cut and maybe her faith really did play a huge part in her career… but it felt too preachy for me… like she was trying to convert me to join her church. If you’re looking for good book by a female operative, go with Life Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA by Amaryllis Fox she is more relatable as a person, just wants to tell her story, & is not trying to save your soul. Honestly, I only got halfway through this book before getting fed up and admitting I wasted my money.

Almost as good as the audiobooks written by Frank. I finished this one in just a few days, I really liked it. Sets up the story for Dune nicely.
