Maybe gets better toward the end...

...but I couldn't care enough about protagonist to find out. If I'm giving the benefit of the doubt, perhaps it's meant to be a slight hyperbole of the horror movie teenager character tropes but it really feels exactly the way an older adult man interprets the behavior of a group of teenage girls, with little character development beyond the lascivious harlot and the anxious virgin.
