The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Insightful
Revisado: 12-01-23
Insightful listen. Reminds us there are more than 1 side to every story. Absolute injustice. I could hear the PTSD developing as the story continued. I wonder if Britney has been diagnosed with PTSD? I wish nothing but the best for her in the future.

One of the best books I’ve heard in a long time.
Unpredictable, engaging and characters that are realistic and easy to become fond of. It also tells a few stories within the story. I’ll add this to my short list of favorites. Definitely looking forward to seeing more from Carol Goodman.

Historia
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Unabridged. Lots of thee and thou. Many extra words as was the 19th century. Grueling at times to get through but worth the time in the end if you have never heard it. A bridged version could be written and take 1/4 of the time. Hahaha.

Great story.
Revisado: 10-04-21
I’m used to Mr. K filling his books with unnecessarily advanced words and his over use of comparative descriptions. His knack for sparking our imaginations while we read about his characters and their Perils is never a disappointment. This was a great story line. The end fell flat for me. I would have enjoyed an additional chapter or two as our new hero’s get their new lives under way. I was extremely pleased with the way his autistic character didn’t over develop. ( I’m trying not to give anything away… ). I was disappointed however in the use of politics. We read these books for adventure. To release ourselves from topics such as politics. Characters political affiliations do not add anything to a story line. For me personally, it takes away from a good book. Another leading writer, not quite of Mr. K’s caliber, recently came out with a book where he repeatedly makes his disgust for a certain political figure known by using it in his story. So much that it will be hard for me to consider one of his titles for some time. I’m glad the use of politics was brief in By the light of the moon. If I could beg Mr. K one thing, it would be to spare us his political opinions.

I’m by no means a prude but there are extremely descriptive sex acts in the book. The story line is not enhanced by it IMO but I couldn’t finish it so….

Almost perfect
Revisado: 08-17-21
Stephen King has long been one of my favorite writers. 11/22/63 was every bit Stephen king but better! This book is even potentially better than that! It’s a story that makes you love and hurt for the characters. It makes you think of them and miss them when it’s over.
One thing got me disappointed though and fortunately the story is so good, I was able to look past it…. Politics. Trump hate…. We get it Mr. King, you hate 45! However, I’m here to be entertained. To fall for your characters…. The small needling you inserted here and there didn’t add to the story, it was not relevant to the story line. I don’t care what way you go, middle? Left? Right? This book isn’t about being small and it’s not about politics. It was an eye roll here and there but any more and I wouldn’t have continued. It was clear that the writer just needed to vent his personal hate inappropriately.
Do read this book! Share it! You won’t be sorry you did. Thank you Mr. King for another unforgettable literary masterpiece.

Historia
On New Year's Day in 1870, 10-year-old Adolph Korn was kidnapped by an Apache raiding party. Traded to Comanches, he thrived in the rough nomadic existence, quickly becoming one of the tribe's fiercest warriors. Forcibly returned to his parents after three years, Korn never adjusted to life in white society. He spent his last years living in a cave, all but forgotten by his family. That is, until Scott Zesch stumbled upon his great-great-great-uncle's grave. Determined to understand how such a "good boy" could have become Indianized so completely, Zesch traveled across the West.

Revisado: 01-28-21
This book takes you right to the 1800’s. It has left me wanting more. I’ve spent the last few days googling the names and locations in the story and that has made it all the better. You feel on the run with Apache and Comanche and others. A few moments were quite graphic, not for the feint of heart. It was factual so it was not unacceptable. If you are thinking of letting young people read this book I suggest you read it with them to skip or explain one very violent chapter. Fabulous reading. Well written. I’d love more from this author.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Great story. Usually when you know an authors writing style, you can predict most of the story. Not the case here. This book is on the same level as 11/22/63. Outstanding! Well thought out.

Why we think it’s a great listen: A masterpiece like none other, Brooks’ powerful performance of Haley’s words has been known to leave listeners in tears. It begins with a birth in an African village in 1750, and ends two centuries later at a funeral in Arkansas. And in that time span, an unforgettable cast of men, women, and children come to life, many of them based on the people from Alex Haley's own family tree.
