The idea that the hero believed the only way to save the heroine was to ruin her made him into a weak dishonorable character and he never redeemed himself.

Throughout the series Jane seemed to have the least traumatic and difficult past but she was still the most shallow and selfish of all of them.

The heroine is a manipulative lying coward who belongs in jail. Trying to write her as sweet and innocent is insulting. **Spoiler - leaving a man to die after you hit him with a boat makes her scum.

Why do authors think it is entertaining to read about characters who are weak and pathetic? The woman in this book shows no respect for the man, his profession, training or experience. The man “loves” her because he thinks she’s sexy but that’s about it.

Would you try another book from Maisey Yates and/or Laurence Bouvard?

NO I would not spend a second wasting my time.

What could Maisey Yates have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Write a book that doesn't insult me and make me grind my teeth. Make me want to finish the book. I was so disgusted with how she wrote the first few pages setting up a strong female lead that you could understand her firm, deep seated beliefs then in a page turns her into a weak, doubtful and serious lustful women. She follows along like a sheep, bowing to the hero's every command. She makes excuses for every single slight given to her by anyone.

Unbelievably Bad

I???ve read every historical romance written by Catherine Coulter and enjoyed them all. BUT, this is the worst book I???ve purchased in a long time. The characters were flat, boring and undeveloped. The story was disjointed and had no flow throughout the book. I was seriously disappointed and could not believe a veteran writer would but out something so poorly written.

Not So Good!

The story had potential but fell flat. The small part of the story with Grandma Eve was the best. Meg is a drama queen who thinks she can handle terrorists better than Navy SEAL's and the FBI. Lt. Nilsson acts like a love struck teenager that can't seem to take control of any situation. The story didn't flow, it had too many pointless scenes and the characters were fragmented.

I found two hours of interesting and thirteen hours of waiting for interesting. The two main characters were not consistent, I kept wondering when I was going to start liking them.
