Good story line, good action, well read.
Revisado: 03-15-24
Dugoni has written these books about hidden espionage in Russia. Women from the US, trained from a young age to be undercover in Russia. They are in danger so the story is what is done to help.
The reader did an impressive job speaking the Russian conversations, then repeating in English. His Finnish pronunciation less so, but he kept everything moving at a good pace. I like the characters, the story starts more slowly with more action as it goes. I enjoyed listening to it and will read more of his books.

Listening to a Hallmark Christmas movie!
Revisado: 12-29-22
What a fun way to keep working on Christmas stuff and still enjoy a Christmas movie!!. Cheesy, schmaltzy, and so enjoyable. Dogs and snow and Santa , a grouchy guy and a beautiful elf, and of course, love. Listen and enjoy.

Started out good then…
Revisado: 10-27-21
I enjoyed most of the first half or so of the book. The occasional addition of background music or sound effects seemed awkward and unnecessary. Then the story branched off into a bunch of directions, one character was blown up 2 or 3 times but could immediately climb out of bed. There was too much sappy love stuff in the second half. And the political correctness police must have had a say in the writing as well. If I want a live story, I will read a love story. If I want an action novel, give me action. And when I read a printed book, I don’t need someone to give me sound effects and mood music. Whether it is written word or an audio book, I like to make those up in my head.

The Weed That Strings the Hangman’s Bag
Revisado: 05-12-21
Wonderful story, quirky and fun. i loved the way the narrater skillfully went from one character to another with distinctly different voices leaving no doubt as to that character’s character. The author created a marvelously fun main character who tells the story as she l sleuths it out. She is peculiar and oddly delicious. I encourage you to give this book a try. I will be reading more by this author!

Good story.
Revisado: 05-05-15
Not really fond of the narrator, just did not fit my image of Kinsey. Lots of violence. Hard to take sometimes. F*** used in appropriate way, but too much. Yeah, some people use it like its every part of speech, but i don't need that to make a good story. Love Ms Barr's style - she makes me laugh and shudder.

Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Great story and great performance. I didn't enjoy the occasional language clusters, but could not wait to drive somewhere and hear more. Unpredictable then horribly predictable. An excellent novel.
