Martin Dixon's carefully-constructed, peaceful life is turned upside down when his super Christian eighteen-year-old nephew Carter shows up unexpectedly on his doorstep and announces he's gay. Martin's first impulse is to send him back to his parents. But when he discovers that Carter has been in a mental hospital to cure his gay-ness he realizes he's stuck with the boy. Unfortunately, the two get on each other's nerves, each driving the other to distraction. Independently, however, they each arrive at the same conclusion. The other would be much less annoying if he only had... a boyfriend.

Marvelous Story

I hear about this book in an interview with author T. J. Klune and he was absolutely correct that this is a great book. I was pulled in from the first scene and enjoyed the whole story. The world building is through and believable. The details of Edwardian English life were obviously well researched and made the story even more enjoyable. The narration by David Thorpe pulled me into the story and kept me entertained through all 14 plus hours. This is book one of a trilogy and while the book has a totally satisfactory ending, there is going to be much more in the other two books. Now I just get to wait for the next book.

This is one of my favorite Mary Calmes short stories. Greg Tremblay does a great job with the voices, giving Leo a deeper more mature voice while making Charlie sound younger. This is such a great shory story with humor and pathos.
