Excellent book and performance
Revisado: 10-12-18
I listen to a lot of audible books I almost never leave reviews.
I found this book excellent in every way. It grabbed my interest from the very beginning and kept my attention throughout.
When I thought the story was predictable it STILL kept me rapt and then took unexpected turns.
I like that it ended leaving me wanting more but at the same time I also felt the ending was too abrupt leaving the story and book incomplete.
I’ll def look for other books by both the author and narrator.

Not happy with the Narrator change 5 books in
Revisado: 04-07-17
Love Karin Slaughter books and this series but almost quit the book after 2 hours due to the narration. It's not terrible but after 5 books with Kathleen Early doing such an awesome job with all the characters I had to push to get through.

Historia
New York book editor Maris Matherly-Reed knows a best seller when she sees one - even if it is just a tantalizing partial manuscript submitted by a writer identified only as P.M.E., with the return address of an obscure island off the Georgia coast. Maris is intrigued enough to search for him.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: When it comes to author/narrator pairings, nobody tops James Lee Burke and Will Patton in the Robicheaux thrillers. Beloved Burke hero Detective Dave Robicheaux here returns to New Iberia to solve a series of grisly murders. Seven young women in neighboring Jefferson Davis Parish have been brutally murdered. While the crimes have all the telltale signs of a serial killer, the death of Bernadette Latiolais, a high-school honor student, doesn’t fit.

Great Story and Great narrating!
Revisado: 07-30-13
I spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME in my car commuting to work but with books like this one it makes me want to spend more time driving because I always hate pausing the book.
Stephen King does an excellent job telling this story. The details and narration make the story come to life.
this is my second stephen king (Joyland made me look for more Stephen King) book and it won't be my last!
Highly recommend!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT
Revisado: 06-13-13
This was one of the best audio books I've heard so far... my only complaint is that it ended too soon!
Loved the Narrator! Liked him so much that I looked for other audio books he's narrated.
Made me hate to get out of my car and I have a 1.5 hour commute each way to work!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.
